Wycombe are trying to muscle their way up to League One next season and they are a free-scoring side down in League Two. Will they be able to rattle their Championship opponents in this FA Cup third round tie? Preston are in the top half of the Championship table and they have quietly put together a pretty solid season and it is they who are going as 21/20 favourites with the Chairboys 11/4 on home soil to take it.

Wycombe Form:
The Chairboys will be looking to build on some good recent home form to push their way through to the fourth round of the FA Cup. They have won six of their last seven home games (L1) in all competitions, with a clean sheet in four of those victories. It has been really good form from them at Adams Park and they have lost only one of their last eleven there. But they are underdogs for this one but given their home form, they could be competitive here and both teams to score in the fixture looks great value. They have scored at least one goal in each of their last eight home games.
Preston Form:
Championship side Preston are a tidy bunch and they are five games unbeaten out on the road and in that sequence, they have taken very good wins at Bristol City and Cardiff, two of the stronger sides in the second tier. So that is a good indication of just how solid they are. Of course, not everything is perfect, but they have lost just two of their last ten away games but have scored frequently and well away from home. They did go out on the road to face League Two opposition in the form of Accrington in the EFL Cup this season and suffered a loss, so just a reason for them to be cautious. They will get a decent game from Wycombe and over 2.5 goals has to be an option.
Head to Head News:
Their last coming together saw them pair up in the FA Cup back in 2013. That was at Wycombe as well and Preston won the game 1-0. That is the only FA Cup clash between the two. Preston boss what head to head record there is, as they are 8-2 up with four drawn games against Wycombe.
Top Betting Tips:
Preston should have enough to take this one. Wycombe are a gutsy side and the home crowd will really play their part in this tie. But North End are a tidy outfit and can go and do a professional job in this one and get the win.
