Will Mahrez Finally Get His Move?
Having been targeted by Premier League champions Manchester City during the January transfer window, only to miss out on his dream move, Riyad Mahrez looks set to be the centre of attention once again this summer, with the Algerian magician likely to seek a move away from Leicester City once more. Despite the winger having reportedly withdrawn his transfer request at the club in recent weeks, the Foxes face an even bigger battle to keep hold of their prized asset, with City, along with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea having been linked with the former Premier League winner.
A whole host of online bookmakers are offering customers the chance to bet on which club Mahrez will be at come the time the summer transfer window closes on August 9th, with Pep Guardiola’s Man City being the current favourites. Bookmaker Paddy Power is offering the Premier League champions odds of 2/1 to sign Mahrez at some point in the next few months, while Betway offer a price of 5/4 on the same market.
However, with Leicester City seemingly set to put up a severe fight in order to keep hold of the former PFA Player of the Year, odds of 6/4 from Ladbrokes for Mahrez to stay at the King Power Stadium are worth considering also. Elsewhere, London duo Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked with Mahrez in the past, with SkyBet offering the Premier League duo odds 8/1 to sign him. However, uncertainty surrounding the managerial future of Antonio Conte, as well as the question surrounding who will replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium could scupper such deals.
Meanwhile, Leicester City are thought to be looking for a replacement for their current manager, Claude Puel. The Frenchman has not enjoyed the second half of the season at the King Power, with Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner believed to be high on their list of potential replacements.
