Even though there is no Premier League football this weekend, there is still a whole host of action taking place across the world including the FA Cup, La Liga, Serie A and the French Cup. In this article I will be taking a look at some of the matches taking place on Sunday and building you a 4-fold bet to take advantage of.
Shrewsbury Town v West Ham United
Shrewsbury Town are flying high in League One right now, trailing leaders Wigan Athletic by just two points and they come into Sunday’s game against West Ham United on an eight match unbeaten run. West Ham, themselves, come into this game with just one win in their last four matches, but they will still start the game as favourites. You would fancy that new manager David Moyes would like a strong FA Cup run this season to bring some joy to a fairly disgruntled set of fans and I’m expecting him to name a pretty strong starting line up for this match. I think West Ham will win here, but Shrewsbury Town will be confident of having the quality to cause them problems.

Newport County v Leeds United
Newport County will be hoping to cause an upset on Sunday by knocking out Championship side, Leeds United. These two sides have already met once before this season, when Leeds United eliminated Newport County from the EFL Cup. You’d expect that Leeds will repeat that on Sunday against a Newport side who are well below the quality of their more illustrious opponents. Of course, you never in a one off cup game, but I’m backing Leeds to get the job done here.

Athletic Bilbao v Alaves
Moving away from the FA Cup now and over to Spain where Athletic Bilbao are hosting Alaves in what could be an interesting match between two teams on strong unbeaten runs. Athletic Bilbao have performed below expectations this season and winning just two of their eight home games this season has seen them stagnate in mid table. Alaves have also struggled this season, but with three wins in their last four matches, they will head into Sunday’s game full of confidence. I’m backing Bilbao to win this one though and stretch their five game unbeaten streak further.

Celta Vigo v Real Madrid
Another side who have underperformed this season are Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane’s side currently find themselves 14 points behind La Liga leaders, Barcelona, after just 17 matches. Real Madrid will be desperate to get back to winning ways after their demoralising 3-0 defeat to Barcelona in their last league match and I’m backing them to do just that against Celta Vigo on Sunday.
