Sacramento Kings vs New York Knicks: Current situation
At 33-29 the Kings currently sit in 9th place in the Western Conference, which would pin them against the Dallas Mavericks in the play-in tournament. With less than 20 games to go, Sacramento needs to go on a push to try and overtake the Golden State Warriors who are in 6th. Right now they are 2 games behind, their recent run of 7 wins in 10 games is encouraging though.
Losing Jaylen Brunson to an ankle injury is a tough blow to the Knicks’ ambitions. The injury couldn’t come at a worst time as New York prepares to make one final push in the regular season. Brunson is expected to miss a couple of weeks at least, the most important thing right now for New York is to somehow try and keep hold of the 3rd seed without him. It’s time for the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns to step up and show why exactly the Knicks acquired him.
Sacramento Kings Stats & Form
Zach LaVine went deep into his bag and scored 36 points to lead the Kings to a 127-109 win over the Spurs in their last game. The former Bull knocked down 7 threes, he also got a lot of help from his teammates with all 5 starters scoring in double figures. Domantas Sabonis will likely miss another couple of weeks with his injury, so it’s important for the Kings role players to continue producing at a high level.
New York Knicks Stats & Form
With 3 losses in a row the Knicks have been very disappointing this past week, but the good news is they have a decent cushion in the 3rd seed so the alarms aren’t going off just yet. Just 95 points scored against the Clippers is worrisome though, head coach Tom Thibodeau needs to find someone else other than KAT to get him some points.
Sacramento Kings vs New York Knicks: Head-to-Head
Not a lot of defense was seen in the first meeting which the Knicks won 143-120. Monday’s game will be the 312th regular season meeting all time between the two teams. New York is currently on a 3-game win streak, having swept the regular season series last year. Sacramento still holds a lead in the all-time win total though, with 159 wins to 152 by the Knicks.

Betting tip and prediction: Sacramento Kings vs New York Knicks (10.03.2025)
Both teams have been hit hard by the injury bug, losing arguably their best player. However, we would argue the importance of Brunson to the Knicks is far greater than the importance of Sabonis to the Kings. With LaVine and DeRozan still producing at a high level, Sacramento can somehow overcome the absence of their 20 and 10 guy. With an average of 124.4 points per game over their last 10 games the Kings are firing on all cylinders, they would be smart to pick up the pace here against a Knicks team currently struggling to put up points. New York has by far the worst perimeter defense this season in the NBA, with teams shooting 37.5% against them. Kings star Zach LaVine is currently on a streak of 3 straight games of 30+ points against the Knicks, don’t be surprised if he once again goes off here. The rebounding edge also goes to Sacramento with their veteran center Jonas Valanciunas posting really solid numbers in the absence of Sabonis. Mitchell Robinson’s absence for the Knicks has been well documented all season long, his comeback is something that will transform the Knicks defense to a whole new level, but we still don’t know when that will happen. Until it does and until the Knicks get Brunson back, we would advise backing against them. Let’s go with the Sacramento Kings here.
