Sacramento Kings vs Dallas Mavericks: Current situation
Sacramento’s season has taken a turn for the worse as the team just fired head coach Mike Brown, who won the Coach of the Year award just 2 seasons ago. After 32 games played the Kings find themselves outside of the playoff picture in the West, perhaps someone with a fresh perspective can lead them to a turnaround? Expectations were high in Sacramento after their offseason acquisition of DeMar DeRozan, however the team just didn’t mesh together well ever since his arrival.
Dallas also had a turbulent start to the season, but with 15 wins in 20 games that’s a thing of the past now. However, they too have a tough stretch ahead of themselves as we head into 2025. Luka Doncic was just diagnosed with a left calf strain which will keep him out at least a month. Dereck Lively II also has a hip issue, while P.J. Washington and Naji Marshall got suspended for their altercation with Jusuf Nurkic in the game against Phoenix a couple of days ago.
Sacramento Kings Stats & Form
In their first game without Mike Brown the Kings got smoked by the Lakers, losing the 4th and final game between the two teams. Offensively they looked solid, apart from their three-point shooting, as 3 players scored 20+ points. However, once again their defense was nowhere to be seen as Anthony Davis cooked them for 36 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists.
Dallas Mavericks Stats & Form
Dallas also lost on Saturday night in a 126-122 thriller against Portland. The Trail Blazers led by as many as 21 points, with all the injuries and suspensions it was hard for the Mavericks to keep up. Kyrie Irving did his best to carry the team on his back with 46 points, but he got very little help from his teammates as neither of them could come close to the 20 point mark. Dallas won’t dwell too much on that defeat, they still have a positive record of 7 wins in 9 road games heading into Monday’s game.
Sacramento Kings vs Dallas Mavericks: Head-to-Head
The two teams split the 4 regular season meetings last year, interestingly enough not a single home win was registered in those 4 games. Not a lot has separated the two teams, but the Mavericks did win 2 of the last 3 regular season series, but not by much. However, in the all time regular season wins total the Mavs lead 103 to 80.

Betting tip and prediction: Sacramento Kings vs Dallas Mavericks (30.12.2024)
Both the Kings and Mavericks are in a state of limbo of sorts right now. Sacramento just fired their head coach Mike Brown, while the Mavs are struggling with injuries as their best player Luka Doncic has been ruled out for at least a month. However, we would still give a slight edge to the Mavericks here, simply because they still have a healthy Kyrie Irving who just had 46 points in the loss to Portland on Saturday. The Kings suffered a heavy loss to the Lakers 132-122, which was their 6th in a row and things just aren’t looking good for this team right now. Doug Christie is expected to take over as interim head coach until a long term solution is found. Dallas has owned the head-to-head match-up winning 6 of the last 9 meetings, they should be able to take advantage of the Kings lackluster three-point defense effort. Sacramento ranks just 28th in opponent three-point percentage this season, giving up almost 38% of shots to go in. That number has risen to 44% over their 3 most recent games, don’t be surprised of Klay Thompson goes off in this game. We are backing Dallas to cover the spread.
