The 2019 Wimbledon Championships Men’s Singles Semifinals are set for Friday afternoon when two arch-rivals will meet at Wimbledon for the first time since 2008. In that epic final 11 years ago, Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer in five sets, so we expect to see another tremendous battle in this semifinal.

Rafael Nadal News & Form
For the second year in a row, Rafael Nadal is among the last four at Wimbledon. The 33-year old Spaniard dropped just a set against Nick Kyrgios in the second round, showing some impressive displays over the last ten days. Nadal hammered Joao Sousa in the round of 16, while he had no mercy against the former Wimbledon semifinalist Sam Querrey in the last eight on Wednesday.
Nadal has a 37-5 record in 2019, winning the title in Rome and retaining the crown at Roland Garros. He’s 71-19 on the grass court and 53-11 at Wimbledon is his career, while Nadal has a 167-88 record against the top-10 players.
Roger Federer News & Form
The eight-time Wimbledon champion cruised through the first four rounds including a demolition job over the 17th seed Matteo Berrettini on Manic Monday. Roger Federer dropped the first set against the 8th seed Kei Nishikori in the quarterfinal, but the 37-year old Swiss took control in the second set and easily won the match.
Federer has a 37-4 record in 2019, winning three trophies in Dubai, Miami, and Halle. Roger is 186-26 on the grass court and 100-12 at Wimbledon in his career, while he has a 220-118 record against the top-10 players.
Nadal – Federer Head to Head
This will be the 40th meeting between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer and their fourth head-to-head duel at Wimbledon. Nadal won 24 of his 39 encounters with Federer who won two of the previous three meetings at Wimbledon. Federer won four of his last five encounters with Nadal along with a straight-set defeat at Roland Garros this season.
Betting Odds and Predictions: Nadal vs Federer
The bookies consider Rafael Nadal as a slight favourite to reach the final. The Spaniard is available at 8/11 odds with Bet365 and William Hill, while Federer is a 6/5 underdog with BetVictor and Betway.
Still, the bookies expect to see a great battle and at least four sets. The line on the total games has been set at 41.5 with Betfair with both over and under at 5/6 odds. Also, the price on exactly five sets in this match is just 2/1 with Ladbrokes.
Our Nadal vs Federer Wimbledon Betting Tip
Considering their current form and the fact that their previous three head-to-head duels at Wimbledon saw at least four sets in the total, I would be surprised if Nadal or Federer finishes the job in straight sets here. Hereof, I suggest you take the over 3.5 sets at 4/9 with William Hill even though the odds are not attractive.
It’s really hard to say who will win this match. Nadal is playing very well at the moment, but this is Federer’s home. Also, Roger beat Nadal in four of their previous five head-to-head duels. If you want some greater wages, I suggest you avoid the side bet and take the over on the total games with Betfair instead.
