Premier League 4-Fold – Wednesday

It’s a busy week of action in the Premier League and with four of the league’s top five teams dropping points at the weekend, there are some must win fixtures taking place on Wednesday night. In this article I will be taking a look at four of Wednesday’s matches and putting together a 4-fold bet for you to take advantage of.

Swansea City v Manchester City

Manchester City set a new record of 14 successive victories with their win against Manchester United at the weekend and Pep Guardiola will be confident of making it 15 in a row against 19th placed Swansea City on Wednesday. The Swans picked up a massive 1-0 win against fellow strugglers West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, but you’d expect City to have far too much quality for them here. I’m backing City to win this game to nil as I can’t see Swansea City scoring here.

West Ham United turned in a superb performance at the weekend, beating Chelsea 1-0 and giving David Moyes his first taste of victory as West Ham boss. On Wednesday night they will come up against an Arsenal side who dropped yet more points on the road against Southampton on Sunday. It took a late Olivier Giroud goal to grab a 1-1 draw for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger’s side looked well off the pace in that game. The Gunners have won just two of their eight games on the road this season, but I’m backing them to beat West Ham in this one.

Arsenal to win – 3/5

Manchester United v Bournemouth

Jose Mourinho has been heavily criticised for the way he set his Manchester United team up against local rivals City on Sunday and he will be desperate to for a big win on Wednesday to silence those critics. Bournemouth could well be the perfect opposition for United; Eddie Howe’s side have been inconsistent this season and are without a win in their last four matches. I fancy United to go big in this one and I’m backing them to win with a -1 handicap. Romelu Lukaku loves playing against the smaller clubs and despite failing to find the net in 12 of his last 14 matches, I think he’ll do the business on Wednesday.

Southampton v Leicester City

Claude Puel makes his return to St. Mary’s Stadium as Leicester City boss on Wednesday night in what looks like an intriguing match up. Leicester City have done well since Puel took over and have now won three games on the bounce to climb to 8th place in the table. Puel appears to be getting the best out of Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and Demarai Gray right now and that trio have enough quality to cause plenty of defences problems this season. I’m going for a draw in this game and I think it could be an exciting one. Puel will be desperate not to lose on his return to his former club and he may choose to try and keep things tight on Wednesday night.
