Following a busy week of Champions League and Europa League football, attention turns back to the Premier League and there are some huge games taking place this weekend. The biggest games are on Sunday, with Chelsea hosting Manchester United and Manchester City taking on Arsenal, but there are still some intriguing fixtures taking place on Saturday.
Newcastle United v Bournemouth
Newcastle United narrowly lost out to Burnley in their last game, but it has still been a solid start to the season by The Magpies. Rafa Benitez’s side currently find themselves in 9th place in the table and they will fancy their chances of beating 19th placed Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon. It has been a tough season for Eddie Howe’s South Coast side, with them picking up just seven points from their first ten games. I’m expecting the struggles to continue on Saturday and I can see Newcastle picking up another narrow victory in this one.

Southampton v Burnley
Burnley were expected to struggle this season, but that has simply not been the case and Sean Dyche’s side find themselves in the lofty heights of 7th place, level on points with Liverpool. They have lost just twice this season and only once in their last five games; a run of form which has seen Dyche, himself, linked with the vacant Everton managerial position. On Saturday they come up against a Southampton team who have been solid, if unspectacular this season. I think it’ll be a tight game on Saturday between two sides who don’t score many goals. The first goal will be key in this fixture, but I can see Southampton just edging it.

Swansea City v Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton & Hove Albion are another side who were expected to struggle this season, but they too have impressed and find themselves in the comfort of mid-table. Their opponents on Saturday, Swansea City, are more precariously placed in 17th place. Paul Clement’s side only just survived last season and it is looking like it could be another relegation battle this time around. This will be a game which Clement earmarked as a winnable fixture though and I’m backing them to do just that.

Swansea City

West Ham United v Liverpool
This is a huge game for both of these sides; West Ham United are down in 16th place and another home defeat for Slaven Bilic could see the Croat lose his job come Monday morning. Meanwhile, Liverpool must win this weekend to take advantage of the fact that at least two of the teams above them will drop points. Liverpool have struggled away from home this season, winning just once and conceding 15 times in five games, but I’m backing them to get the job done against West Ham on Saturday.
