Philadelphia 76ers vs San Antonio Spurs: Current situation
With 6 wins in 9 games the 76ers have made up a lot of ground in the Eastern Conference, jumping to 12th place in the standings. The play-in tournament isn’t far off, the 10th seeded Pistons are just 2.5 games ahead which is very doable with over 50 games left to play this regular season. However, the Sixers will only go as far as Joel Embiid’s health allows them. The big fella has played in only 7 games this season and is averaging just over 22 points per game.
The 3 teams the Spurs are battling with for Playoff positioning are all on losing streaks at the moment, so this is the perfect time for San Antonio to start winning. They are on a 2-game win streak at the moment, but more importantly there’s not a single player on the injury report right now. Victor Wembanyama is also playing exceptionally well, he has now led the team in scoring in 5 straight games.
Philadelphia 76ers Stats & Form
There is no shame in losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers, so the Philadelphia 76ers will look to forget Saturday’s game as quickly as possible. Despite the 27 point loss there were some positives to take away from that game as Tyrese Maxey scored 27 points. Only one starter played 30+ minutes in that game, so the 76ers will be fresh for Monday’s affair against San Antonio.
San Antonio Spurs Stats & Form
Don’t look now but the Spurs are heating up. After a 133-126 OT home win over Atlanta, they just beat the Portland Trail Blazers 114-94. Wemby was once again the leader with 30 points and an unreal 10 blocks. San Antonio is 4-1 SU in 5 games, despite not having their head coach Gregg Popovich who is still recovering from a mild stroke suffered over a month ago.
Philadelphia 76ers vs San Antonio Spurs: Head-to-Head
Entering Monday’s game Philadelphia is on a 3-game win streak in head-to-head meetings, having swept the regular season series last year. They’ve won 10 of 11 vs San Antonio, we’d have to go back to the 2016-17 season to find a year when the Spurs won the regular season series between the two teams. However, they still hold a comfortable 59-46 lead in the all-time regular season wins total.
Philadelphia 76ers – San Antonio Spurs Odds
Going for a 76ers home win will net you 8/15 odds, while for an upset San Antonio victory you can get 8/5 odds.
The point total has been set at 222.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Philadelphia 76ers vs San Antonio Spurs (23.12.2024)
Prior to the season starting, not a lot of people would have thought the San Antonio Spurs would have a better record than the Philadelphia 76ers through the first 25 games or so, but here we are. Both teams are in a good groove, the Spurs have won 3 of 4 games, while the 76ers are 4-2 over their last 6. Philly is coming off a bad loss to Cleveland, but that is understandable considering they were without Joel Embiid against the team with the best record in the league. Embiid could make a comeback against San Antonio though, if that happens the 76ers will be a much bigger favorite than the current -5.5 point spread indicates. Philadelphia has owned this match-up, winning 10 of the last 11 meetings and 7 of the last 8 on their home floor. This is a good match-up for them as San Antonio is unlike other teams, they like to force their opponents into two point shots, instead of the three-ball. The 76ers aren’t equipped with that many quality three-point shooters, so they’ll look to attack more often here. The combination of Maxey, George and Embiid will be too much to handle for a Spurs team that is just starting a grueling 4-game road trip that will see them play some stiff competition. We are backing the 76ers in this one.
