Philadelphia just had a 4-game win streak snapped by the Denver Nuggets on Friday, which is fine. The team is currently dealing with a lot of injuries and going into most games they will be the underdog at this point. It was the usual suspects Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum leading the way, both of them are headed to San Francisco for the All-Star game later this month. Rebounding is something to keep an eye on moving forward though, as the Celtics lost that battle 48-35 against a not-so-good Pelicans team. Friday’s win was the 5th in 7 games for Boston, perhaps they can regain some of the form they had earlier in the year before this slump.

Revenge will be on the minds of the Celtics players here as they face a Philly team that upset them in the first meeting of the season as 9.5 point underdogs. Boston didn’t have an answer for Tyrese Maxey in that game as he torched them for 33 points, that’s likely going out be the case on Sunday as well. However, the big difference will be the absence of Joel Embiid and Paul George. With the big fella out of the line-up, the Celtics can attack the basket relentlessly here and I expect them to do just that. We just saw the Nuggets take full advantage of an empty 76ers paint by scoring 72 points on Friday. The three-ball is also something to keep an eye on here. Philadelphia is in the bottom 10 when it comes to defending the perimeter, that’s not a good sign going into a game against the most lethal shooting team in the NBA from downtown. Boston makes 17.7 threes per game, that’s 1.6 threes more than 2nd best team in the league. Although their current form isn’t on the level of the one we saw in the first 2 months of the season, Boston is still a force and with 5 wins in 7 meetings we feel like they have what it takes to come out on top in this game as well.
