Serbian SuperLiga champions Partizan Belgrade look to make up for their Champions League exit by booking a place in the group stages of the Europa League, but they must first get past the challenge of Hungarian side Videoton in the play-off round.
Partizan Belgrade
Partizan won their eighth league title in ten seasons in 2016/17, earning them a place in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. They came through their first tie, beating Buducnost Podgorica 2-0 on aggregate, but were knocked out by Olympiacos in the third qualifying round. Demoted to the Europa League, they just need to navigate their way through this tie to book a place in the group stage. Domestically, they have four wins from five matches in the league and currently sit fourth in the table.
Videoton FC
Videoton started their Europa League campaign at the end of June, with a first qualifying round tie against Balzan. A 2-0 home victory was followed by a 3-3 draw in the away leg, and they were through to the next round. There, they played Nomme Kalju and pretty much killed the tie off early with a 3-0 away victory in the first leg. Their Estonian opponents put up more of a fight to earn a 1-1 draw in the second leg but the damage was already done.
In the last round, Videoton looked to be headed out of the competition after a 2-1 away defeat to Bordeaux. However, they showed their fighting spirit to pick up a 1-0 win at home and advance via the away goals rule. They currently sit second of the Hungarian National Championship I, with three wins and two draws from their five league games so far.

Betting Odds and Predictions
Partizan Belgrade should win this game quite comfortably. They should have been playing in the Champions League, and they will not want to miss out on qualifying for both European competitions. Therefore, we are tipping as home victory in this match. The bookmakers seemingly agree with our opinions, as Partizan are priced as 3/4 favourites at Sky Bet. Videoton are priced at 18/5, whilst the draw is 11/4. This season is still in its early stages, so it’s difficult to find enough statistical information to give confident predictions.
One thing we predict with confidence is that Partizan will score at least one goal, although it’s not worth betting on at odds of 1/8. Backing them to score 2+ goals is better value, at 8/15, and we are pretty confident of them netting twice. Another bet we like the look of is Partizan to win either half, at odds of 4/11. We think Partizan are going to win this match, and unfortunately the odds in most of the markets we looked at do not provide much value.
However, we did find one bet which looks to be good value and provides a decent potential for profit. That is Partizan to win with a -1 handicap, at odds of 15/8. Also, backing Partizan in the HT/FT market is priced at 6/4 and could provide punters with a profit.
Top Betting Tip
