Orlando Magic vs Dallas Mavericks: Current situation
It’s never too late to wake up in the NBA regular season, just ask the Orlando Magic. They’ve now won 3 games in a row to get within half a game of the Atlanta Hawks who are in the 7th seed. Injuries have decimated this roster over the past couple of months, whoever gets the Magic in the first round won’t be too happy.
A similar situation is going on in Dallas where the Mavericks have lost their two best players to injuries in the last 2 months. However, things are turning around as Anthony Davis has returned from his groin injury. The Mavs are in a difficult spot right now, dropping out of playoff contention. However, they are just half a game back of the Phoenix Suns and have a much easier schedule in these remaining 10 games or so.
Orlando Magic Stats & Form
Paolo Banchero once again lit up his opponent with another 32 point game as the Magic ran over the Charlotte Hornets in their most recent win. Banchero is averaging just under 30 points a night in his last 10 outings, going into Thursday’s game he’s on a streak of 4 straight 30+ point performances. The Magic’s defense could definitely use a lift, they scored just 85 points against the Mavericks in the first meeting this season.
Dallas Mavericks Stats & Form
Tuesday’s 128-113 loss at Madison Square Garden was a schedule loss for the Mavericks. Playing 2 games in 2 days was never going to work for a team that’s been injury riddled like the Mavericks. Naji Marshall continued his spectacular play with 38 points, while Brandon Williams added 22 off the bench. Things should improve with Davis coming back on Thursday.
Orlando Magic vs Dallas Mavericks: Head-to-Head
Dallas won the first meeting of the season fairly easily 108-85, but it’s hard to take that game into account as the rosters today look unlike those we saw in early November. It was the Mavs’ 3rd win in a row in head-to-head meetings, they’ve had the upper hand with 9 wins in 11 games head-to-head. Interestingly enough, the over has cashed in 11 of 14 meetings played in Orlando.
Orlando Magic – Dallas Mavericks Odds
Going for a 4th Magic win in a row gets you odds of 4/5. If you like the Mavericks on the road you can get odds of 6/5.
The point total has been set at 216.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Orlando Magic vs Dallas Mavericks (27.03.2025)
It’s a clash of styles on Thursday at the Kia Center. The Magic like to slow things down and rely on their wing scorers to get wins, while the Mavericks play an up-tempo style in hopes of their big men carrying them to wins. It all comes down to Anthony Davis in this game in our opinion. Orlando has been very thin at the center position all year long, their flaws on defense have been masked a bit with the slow pace they play so most opponent stats look lower in games against them. In his last 3 games against Orlando, Anthony Davis is averaging 31 points and 13.7 rebounds, that tells you just how badly the Magic are at defending opposing centers. Meanwhile, Orlando’s two biggest hopes here are Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner who have been on a tear offensively. It’ll be interesting to see if their numbers hold up with AD taking away some of their paint production. In their last 3 games the Mavericks are giving up just 44.7 rebounds per game, for comparison the league leading Knicks are allowing just 49.5 per game this entire season. This game has all the necessary tools for it to finish under the total. This has happened twice in the last 3 meetings, including just 193 points total scored in the first meeting back in November. We are backing the under here.
