Oklahoma City Thunder vs Milwaukee Bucks: Current situation
Winning the Emirates NBA Cup would validate all the good things the Oklahoma City Thunder have done as an organization over the pas few years. They’ve built their team the “correct” way, through the draft and player trades. Despite being without their 2nd best player Chet Holmgren for over a month now they have shown no signs of slowing down and coming into Tuesday’s game they are top of the West as one of the main contenders to win it all.
Milwaukee’s path to the final was a bit tougher, but in the end the Doc Rivers led team locked down the Magic and Hawks to book their place in the biggest game of the season. Injuries played a massive part in the early downfall of this team, but as of today there is not a single player on the injury report Milwaukee which is a rarity in the NBA these days. Khris Middleton is making encouraging improvements following double-ankle surgery, even if the Bucks lose here they will still be one of the teams to beat come playoff time in the East.
Oklahoma City Thunder Stats & Form
Although he shot just 8-for-21 from the field, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander still had 32 points in the 111-96 win over the Rockets in the Cup semi-final. He got a lot of help in Isaiah Hartenstein and Jalen Williams as both went for 20+ points. It wasn’t the most efficient of games by OKC, so they had to turn it up defensively to win that game. They held Houston to just 36% from the field and 23% from downtown.
Milwaukee Bucks Stats & Form
Although the Bucks were down by 1 point heading into the 4th quarter, their victory against Atlanta was never in doubt down the stretch. Giannis Antetokounmpo took it upon himself to make sure Milwaukee didn’t disappoint like they did last year in this competition, he had 32 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists in the win. Damian Lillard had a rough shooting night, but added 25 of his own along with 7 assists. As good as those two are capable of being on offense, Milwaukee would be smart to turn to their defense if they want to win this game.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Milwaukee Bucks: Head-to-Head
This will be the first time these two teams play each other this season. The two regular season meetings are planned for earlier February and mid-March. Milwaukee has had the upper hand in games played vs OKC, winning 6 in a row before the Thunder won the most recent game back in April of this year. These two teams are neck and neck in the all-time regular season series win total, with Milwaukee holding a slight lead with 77 wins compared to 74 by the Thunder.
Oklahoma City Thunder – Milwaukee Bucks Odds

Betting tip and prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Milwaukee Bucks (17.12.2024)
With the first trophy in the NBA season on the line, both the Thunder and Bucks will have to bring their A-game to the table here. The two teams dominated their opponents on the way to the Final, OKC won their semi-final by 15 vs Houston, while the Bucks handed Atlanta a 110-102 defeat in the East bracket. Although the Thunder are favored by the oddsmakers here, we believe there is a lot of value in betting on the Bucks to cover the spread. Head-to-head meetings have mainly gone Milwaukee’s way with them winning 6 of the last 7 games. Plus, experience is more often than not a deciding factor in elimination games and the trio of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton has played in more big games than this entire OKC Thunder roster. As good OKC has been, they are yet to break out on the biggest stage. Giannis and co. have a ring already, which they won back in 2021 and we are sure some of that experience will come in handy if this game is tight down the stretch. One other factor to consider here is OKC’s lack of rebounding ability. They are the 29th ranked team in opponent rebounds per game, allowing 57.5 a night. With big players like Brook Lopez and Antetokounmpo on their roster, the Bucks will surely take advantage of that. We are not sure if Milwaukee will end up winning here, but backing them plus the spread is a solid bet.
