Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Lakers: Current situation
Oklahoma City’s 11-game win streak came to an abrupt end on Friday as they fell in Houston by 14-points. They’ve now lost 13 games on the season which means we won’t see a team win 70+ games in the regular season for only the 3rd time ever. That shouldn’t bother the Thunder too much though, they have bigger goals in mind and that’s to win the NBA championship.
The Lakers have similar goals in mind as well. LeBron and co. have won 3 of their last 4 games and are ramping up work as we get closer to the postseason. As things stand the Lakers rank 3rd in the West which would pit them against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1st round. However, with 5 games remaining a lot can still change in the loaded Western Conference.
Oklahoma City Thunder Stats & Form
Jalen Williams had one of his better games this season as he scored 33 points, but the Thunder lost on Friday in Houston. SGA and Chet Holmgren each contributed with 22 and 20 points respectively, but the Thunder jus didn’t perform well on the glass and were outrebounded 48-33 which is one of the main reasons why they lost that game. Giving up 14 offensive rebounds is not something you want to repeat on Sunday against the Lakers.
Los Angeles Lakers Stats & Form
A steady production on offense gave the Lakers a much needed 124-108 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Luka Doncic had 35 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists, while Austin Reaves and LeBron James chipped in 30 and 27 respectively. However, not everything went smoothly for the Lakers who have up 15 offensive rebounds, but the Pelicans just weren’t able to punish them.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Lakers: Head-to-Head
As you might remember the Lakers have had the advantage in this match-up for quite a few head-to-head meetings over the years, mainly due to their advantage down low with Anthony Davis. They’ve won 7 of the last 10 meetings, going 7-3 ATS. However, with Davis now gone this will be a completely different game. Sunday’s game will be the 269th regular season meeting all time, the Lakers lead 156 to 112 in wins.
Oklahoma City Thunder – Los Angeles Lakers Odds
If you’re going for another OKC Thunder home win you can get odds of 4/9. Backing the Lakers to pull off the upset here gets you odds of 15/8.
The point total has been set at 223.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Lakers (06.04.2025)
Being double-digit favorites against a team that has Luka Doncic and LeBron James might sound a bit too much, but that’s nothing new for the Oklahoma City Thunder who have been in this position for most of their games this year. They have a historically great Net Rating at +12.8 points this season, while in homes they’ve suffered just 6 defeats in 41 games. This could very well end up being the match-up in the Western Conference Finals, so both teams will take this game seriously and try some things out just to see where they are. OKC did win the first meeting 101-93 back in late November, but so much has changed with the Lakers roster that it’s hard to take that game into consideration here. For Sunday injuries might play a role as Jaylin Williams, Isaiah Joe and Ousmane Dieng are all questionable for Oklahoma City. Their depth could take a small hit because of that, but the core remains healthy and playing well at the moment. We’ve not seen the Thunder lose back-to-back games often this season, so this is the perfect bounce back opportunity against one of the contenders in the West. We are sure Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and co. are looking forward to making amends in front of the home crowd here, let’s back Oklahoma City to win and cover here.
