Oklahoma City Thunder vs Denver Nuggets: Current situation
This game could not have come at a better time for the Oklahoma City Thunder who are currently on a 6-game win streak. They have their entire roster fully healthy and available, playing the Nuggets will give us an idea if they can compete with the elite teams in the Western Conference. Despite the 52-11 record this team has a lot of doubters still, so perhaps a result here would quiet the critics a bit.
Nikola Jokic continues to re-write NBA history. In the win over the Phoenix Suns he became the first ever player to post a 30-20-20 stat line, reminding us all that he is still pretty much in the MVP race. As a team the Nuggets have won 3 of 4 games, with the only blemish being the game at Boston last Sunday which they lost by 7 on the road.
Oklahoma City Thunder Stats & Form
Defense proved to be the difference once again for OKC as they held the Blazers to just 89 points in their win a couple of days ago. SGA continued to build up his MVP case, he is still the frontrunner according to most oddsmakers, however the Thunder need to win at least one of the two upcoming games against Denver in order for SGA to maintain the lead.
Denver Nuggets Stats & Form
Knocking down 21 threes was a nice surprise by the Denver Nuggets who aren’t really the highest volume shooting team from deep. They’ll need a similar effort against the Thunder if they want to get a result on Monday. In their only win this season the Nuggets put 124 points past OKC, signaling in what type of direction this game will go.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Denver Nuggets: Head-to-Head
Oklahoma City dominated the season opener 102-87, but less than 2 weeks later the Nuggets responded with a 2-point win of their own. Games 3 and 4 will take place in Oklahoma City where the Nuggets have won 4 of the last 5 meetings. This will be the 203rd regular season meeting all-time between the two teams.

Betting tip and prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Denver Nuggets (10.03.2025)
Normally when the two same teams clash on back-to-back days in the same building they tend to split the series, as it’s really hard to beat the exact same team on multiple days. What should give the Thunder the edge in this game is their defense – over the past 15 games they rank 6th best in defensive rating, allowing opponents to score 110.8 points per 100 possessions. Meanwhile, over this same time span the Nuggets are only 15th which means their defense is mediocre at best. Having Nikola Jokic at their disposal, they will get away with sub par performances on most nights, however against the 4th best offense in the NBA that might not be the case. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 33.6 points per game in his last 9 outings, the Nuggets will have a hard time containing him with the likes of Jamal Murray and Christian Braun. Murray is no longer the same player he once was on the defensive end, due to all the injuries he has gone through. Chet Holmgren matches up well with Nikola Jokic, at least on the offensive end. The Thunder big man can roam around the perimeter which could force the Joker to step outside a little more than he usually does. This is the chance the Thunder have to take to attack the basket. Don’t be surprised if the majority of OKC’s points come from the inside. We are backing the Thunder to cover the spread here.
