Norwich v Brentford Betting Tip:

These two are pretty much stuck together down in the bottom half of the Championship league table and both could really use an injection of three points from a win in this one. Norwich have been struggling badly and have not produced the goods in front of goal at all this term. As for Brentford, they are only a point better off than the Canaries are, but they are showing much more consistency in their form. Norwich are 11/8 to pick up the home win on Friday, with Brentford at 2/1.

Norwich Form:

Norwich have been well out of form lately as they have only collected the one win in their last nine Championship fixtures. There seems to be a little in the way of any fight from them and they are struggling really badly in front of goal. Only Burton and Birmingham, two of the current bottom three, have scored fewer goals than Norwich have managed this season. So under 2.5 goals has to be a decent proposition for this one. Only 27% of Norwich’s home games this season have seen more than two goals in them. For a side who aren’t prolific in front of goal, there has to be a solid defence and unfortunately, the Canaries can’t rely on theirs as they have not taken a clean sheet in any of their last six at home and none overall in their last nine home and away. The Canaries are W1 D2 L2 in their last five at home, winning just one of their last eight there.

Brentford Form:

The Bees have lost just two of their last fifteen league matches now so that in context, is pretty solid. They are only a point above Norwich though, who in comparison have lost six of their last nine games. So Brentford have been far more consistently stable than the Canaries have been for sure. The two defeats that they did suffer there though in that run of games were both on the road and both within their last three games away from home. One of them was at Cardiff which was excusable and the other was at Hull. Brentford have been far more productive in front of goal than Norwich have been this season and they have scored at least two goals in all but one of their last seven out on the road in the league. They were going well on the road before their recent setbacks of having taken just one point from their last nine available, but should be competitive in this one.

Head to Head News:

Norwich beat Brentford 3-1 in the EFL Cup back in September and that means that they have gone unbeaten in their last three contests against Brentford. Brentford have managed only the one win in their last seven games against Norwich in all competitions and they were hammered 5-0 in this corresponding fixture last season, before playing out a 0-0 draw back on home soil against the Canaries.

Top Betting Tips:

Brentford are worth a flutter to go and raid Carrow Road. Norwich can’t be trusted with the number of defects that they have picked up lately and Brentford have superior scoring power to bring to the table which may just get them across the finish line.
