Miami Heat vs Houston Rockets: Current situation
Just when we though the Heat were going to end their losing streak, Cade Cunningham buried them with less than a second remaining to extend the losing streak to 9 games in a row. The Heat are desperate to get something going, it was encouraging to see Bam Adebayo finally have a good game with 30 points, but it’ll take much more than that to beat the Rockets on Friday.
Unlike Miami, the Rockets are headed in a completely different direction. They’ve won 8 games in a row and at 45-25 they occupy the 2nd seed in the West with a one game advantage over the Lakers and Nuggets. This 8-game win streak couldn’t come at a better time for the Rockets who have had their issues in February, but as they ramp up work over the final 20 games they’re once again proving to be a valid contender in the Western Conference.
Miami Heat Stats & Form
Miami displayed a solid effort in their last game against the Pistons, losing only by 3 points at home. The duo of Adebayo and Herro combined to score 59 points, but overall as a team they shot just 31% from three, it is hard to win in today’s NBA without a consistent three-point shot. Wednesday’s loss means that the Heat have now dropped 6 straight at home, they’ve also covered the spread only once in 7 games overall.
Houston Rockets Stats & Form
Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun made sure the Rockets win streak would survive at Orlando on Wednesday night. Green led the way with 26 points, while Sengun added 22 and 12 rebounds. Winning 8 in a row is the longest win streak of the season for the young and upcoming Rockets, they’ve now covered the spread in 6 of 8 games overall.
Miami Heat vs Houston Rockets: Head-to-Head
Miami’s 104-100 win earlier in the year vs Houston was their 9th win in a row in head-to-head meetings. That means they’ve swept the last 4 regular season series between the two teams, we have to go all the way back to the 2017-18 season to see a Rockets regular season series sweep in this match-up. Friday’s game will be the 76th regular season meeting all-time.
Miami Heat – Houston Rockets Odds
Backing the Rockets to add to their win streak gets you odds of 1/2. If you like Miami here, you can get odds of 7/4 for a home win.
The point total has been set at 218.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Miami Heat vs Houston Rockets (21.03.2025)
No team in the NBA has had a bad offensive rating as the Miami Heat’s over the past 9 games. The team from South Beach is scoring just 104.9 points per 100 possessions, the team above them are the Utah Jazz who are at 108.3 points. That stat alone shows just how badly the Heat have played lately, they’re losing games by an average of 12 points during this losing streak. Friday’s opponent the Rockets have excelled on both ends during their 8 game win streak. They rank 5th in offensive efficiency, scoring an average of 121.9 points per 100 possessions, while on defense only the league best OKC Thunder have had better numbers. Opponents are scoring just 107.9 points per 100 possessions on the Rockets in the last 8 games played. Despite the poor record in head-to-head meetings, this is Houston’s game to lose. The combination of Green on the outside and Sengun on the interior has been lethal against way better teams than the Heat are right now. Even though Adebayo and Herro had solid displays against the Pistons the other day, it is very hard to trust a team that’s been so bad during such a long stretch of games. Since the trade deadline Miami has recorded just 4 wins total, until they get their act together we recommend staying away from them. We’ll be backing the Houston Rockets to cover here.
