Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers: Current situation
Becoming the first team in NBA history to make the postseason as the 10th seed through the play in-tournament is a noteworthy achievement, but for a team like Miami that is very little comfort after a disappointing 37-45 campaign. The Jimmy Butler saga took a toll on the team in the middle of the season, they could just never recover from that and it’ll be an interesting summer for Miami as they look to make moves to improve the roster.
Darius Garland re-aggravating his toe injury is the only blemish on the Cavaliers postseason so far. Things have translated very well from the regular season into these first 3 games vs Miami, the Cavs have shown zero weaknesses so far and they don’t look like slowing down. Evan Mobley bagged the Defensive Player of the Year award, but it’s not about the individuals with this team. The chemistry this unit shows on a nightly basis is unmatched in the NBA.
Miami Heat Stats & Form
Things went downhill for Miami very quickly in Game 1 as they fell behind by 13 points in the opening quarter, surrendering 33 points. From then on they proceeded to lose every single quarter, the defense just wasn’t up to par with what the Cavs were doing. If there is one positive we need to take away from that game it’s the 16-for-34 effort from three, but that’s far too little to win a postseason game vs Cleveland.
Cleveland Cavaliers Stats & Form
The Game 3 wins was the definition of team play displayed by one of the most well rounded teams in the NBA. Cleveland got 10+ points from 6 different players, more than making up for the absence of Garland who is the team’s leading point guard. Without him the team made a conscious effort to share the ball, ending the game with 32 assists.
Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers: Head-to-Head
It’s been a one-sided street for the most part in meetings between these two teams this season. They’ve played each other 6 times already, with the Heat winning once and the Cavaliers returning the favor in the next 5 games. Despite winning just 5 times in 20 visits to South Beach, the Cavaliers are once again the overwhelming favorites in Game 4.

Betting tip and prediction: Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers (28.04.2025)
It’s quite evident that this series is a massive mismatch and the sooner it’s over the better for all parties involved. The Heat got embarrassed on their home court on Saturday losing by 37 points in a game in which Cleveland was without Darius Garland. Not only that, but also leading scorer and best player Donovan Mitchell shot just 4-for-14 from the field and scored 13 points, but despite all that the Cavaliers showed who is the boss once again. They dominated the boards 46-29, that just shows the level of urgency that the best team in the East goes into games, even when they’re in a comfortable position with a 2-0 lead. Miami got a solid game out of Bam Adebayo on Saturday, outside of that it was a pretty disappointing effort. The defense of the Cavaliers prevented them from going on any kind of runs throughout the game and there is no quick fix in sight. A lack of physicality was also evident on the part of the Heat players who attempted just 10 free throws the whole game, that tells us they settled way more for outside shots instead of taking the ball to the basket. A change of approach might happen in Game 4, but that’s too little too late in our opinion. The Cavaliers are clearly the better team here, expect them to join the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2nd round on Monday.
