The Lakers flamed out in Game 4 and now they find themselves in a 3-1 deficit heading into a crucial Game 5 at Crypto.com Arena. Many people questioned the decisions of head coach JJ Redick who played his 5 starters the entire 2nd half, which is something we don’t usually see until the latter rounds of the postseason. Fatigue was a factor down the stretch as Minnesota relied on 23-year old Anthony Edwards to carry them and he fully delivered with 43 points. It wasn’t just Ant Man though, he also got a lot of help from his teammates, the Timberwolves just look like a more coherent unit right now. And if you think they are going to relax and give away Game 5 to the Lakers just because they are playing on the road, you are greatly mistaken. The hunger with which the young Timberwolves play on a nightly basis is truly remarkable. Anthony Edwards is a $200 million player, but he is playing like a player who is trying to get a big contract. With the series going back to Los Angeles, we have questions over the Lakers offense and whether or not they can find ways to score. In the opening two games they finished below 100 points on both occasions, it might take a super heroic effort from Luka Doncic for them to stand a chance here. Is that realistic? I am not so sure. Minnesota is the better team here, why not give them the benefit of the doubt and back them plus the extra points on the road?
