Leganes vs Levante | Prediction, Betting Tips & Odds

The final La Liga fixture of the weekend takes place on Monday night and sees Leganes welcome Levante to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Match Preview

Both teams were tipped as being potential relegation candidates this season but have risen to the occasion and managed to avoid the drop with 3 games remaining.  Both Leganes and Levante have 40 points to their name and that leaves them 11 points clear of 18th place Deportivo La Coruna, who have just 2 matches remaining.

Therefore, there is little pressure on this match for either team and they can try and enjoy their football until the end of the season.

Leganes

Despite securing a place in La Liga for next season, form has not been good for Leganes recently and they have won just 1 on their last 6 La Liga matches.  This poor run of results has seen them slide down the table but they have faced some difficult games, especially away from home against Barcelona, Villarreal and Real Madrid.

Leganes also lost at home recently in a 1-0 defeat to Valencia.

Defensively, Leganes have been good at home in recent weeks and they kept a clean sheet in 4 of their last 6 home league games and have seen under 2.5 goals in each of the last 3 at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque.

Levante

In contrast to Leganes, Levante have been in excellent form in recent weeks and have lost only 1 of their last 9 La Liga games.

This run has been good enough to see them move away from the relegation zone following a dreadful run of results between the 25th November and 10th March which saw them fail to win a single league game.

Levante have won each of their last 3 La Liga matches but have won only 2 of their last 10 on the road.  Only once have they managed to keep a clean sheet in those 10 away games and that came in a 1-0 win at Getafe.

Leganes vs Levante Head to Head

The two clubs have met 11 times in competitive fixtures in the past, with Arsenal having won nine of such clashes, as well as registering a single draw. Burnley’s sole success came in a League Cup tie back in 2008, with the Gunners having won the last six meetings between the duo, including a narrow 1-0 win at Turf Moor earlier in the season, when former player Alexis Sanchez scored an injury-time goal.

Team News

Alexander Szymanowski is injured for Leganes and they could also be without Ezequiel Munoz and Omar Ramos, who are rated as doubtful. Gabriel Pires is suspended but Claudio Beauvue should be fit to start the match in attack.

Levante will travel without the injured quartet of Ivan Lopez, Raul Fernandez, Cheick Doukoure and Tono.  Jefferson Lerma returns from suspension and should go back into the starting XI.

Leganes vs Levante Top Betting Tip: “1”

Given the overall form of both teams, Levante would be favourites but the home and away form of each makes things a little more even and the draw looks a good bet at 11/5 with William Hill.

There have been under 2.5 goals in the last 3 meetings between Leganes and Levante and we could be in for more of the same in this match. Under 2.5 goals is 27/20 with Ladbrokes.

However, Levante have been struggling to keep clean sheets away from home in recent games and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Leganes get on the score sheet once. The 1-1 correct score is 6/1 at William Hill.
