LA Clippers vs Miami Heat: Current situation
The recent wildfires in Los Angeles have caused a postponement in one of the Clippers games, so they’ll have 5 days in between their most recent game against Denver and the one on Monday vs Miami. Star player Kawhi Leonard is away from the team to be with his family during this difficult time, that shouldn’t have too much of an effect on LA as they are pretty much used to playing without him. At 20-17 the Clippers hold the 7th seed in the West which would put them in the play-in tournament.
Miami is an identical 20-17, in the East that gets you the 6th seed and an automatic qualification for the postseason. If the season were to end today, the Heat would play the Knicks in the 1st round, a match-up that Miami wouldn’t mind. The saga around Jimmy Butler has been detrimental to the team, it’ll be interesting to see what happens once this 6-game road trip is over and Butler’s suspension ends.
LA Clippers Stats & Form
The Clippers have lost 2 games in a row and 4 of their last 5. The start of 2025 hasn’t been particularly good for the Clippers, 3 of those losses were by double-digits. Players are going in and out of the line-up, they are just unable to consistently win games. The 5 day break should allow star point guard James Harden to heal up though, which is a good sign.
Miami Heat Stats & Form
With 3 wins in a row the Heat are back above the .500 mark and that must feel so good for head coach Erik Spoelstra who was visibly upset after that horrible 36-point home loss to Utah a week ago. The team is back in sync again, Tyler Herro is doing his best to carry the team offensively, while Bam Adebayo is manning the middle. Miami is one of the more prolific teams when it comes to three-point shooting, they’re connecting on almost 37% of their attempts this season.
LA Clippers vs Miami Heat: Head-to-Head
Being in opposite Conferences we only get two meetings per year between the Clippers and Heat. Miami holds a slim lead with 39 wins to 32 by the Clippers. After losing both meetings and the regular season in 2022-23, LA bounced back by sweeping the Heat last year. The win at home sticks out as the Clippers dominated that one by 17 points.
LA Clippers – Miami Heat Odds
If you believe the Heat can win a 4th game in a row here, odds of 11/8 are available for a road victory. Meanwhile, backing the Clippers at home will get you 5/6 odds.
The point total has been set at 219.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: LA Clippers vs Miami Heat (13.01.2025)
Some people might argue that not playing for 5 days could disrupt a team’s chemistry, but in this case that cannot be further from the truth. The Clippers are off to a sluggish start to the year, they really needed something to change, so this might be a blessing in disguise. Their three-point shot has been off for a while now, in the last 3 games they were converting on just 33% of their attempts from downtown. Miami comes into this game with a lot of momentum, regardless of the Jimmy Butler situation. They have been one of the more reliable teams when playing the Western Conference, winning 9 of their last 12 such games. One of the biggest strengths of this team is their ability to win games even if they are not shooting the ball well, we just saw them beat Utah 97-92 in a slugfest where they shot under 40% from the field. The Clippers also prefer playing a slower pace and relying on defense to win games. The under has cashed in 22 of 37 games so far in their season, including 7 of their last 10 most recent games. Miam is 1-4 on the O/U in their last 5 on the road, they play the 4th slowest pace in the league this season. With the Clippers also ranking in the bottom 10 in possessions per game, we recommend backing the under in this one.
