International Champions Cup 4-Fold Betting Tip
As is so often the case nowadays, most of the big sides in European football find themselves in the USA for pre-season. These pre-season tournaments are not only used to build up fitness levels ahead of the new season, they are also a way to keep American fans interested and also build up a bigger fan base on the other side of the pond. In this article, I will be taking a look at four of the International Champions Cup matches taking place this week and building you a 4-fold bet to take advantage of. All of the odds in this article come courtesy of Coral and are accurate at the time of writing.
Juventus vs Bayern Munich
The first match in this 4-fold is between two of the greatest European clubs in recent history; Juventus and Bayern Munich. Juventus have had a busy summer, adding Cristiano Ronaldo to their ranks for £100m, as well as spending another £100m elsewhere in the team. New signing, Emre Can, is in line to make his first appearance for his new club, but Ronaldo is not yet available for selection. This will be Juventus’s first pre-season friendly and I think that could hamper them here. Bayern Munich beat PSG 3-1 in their last match and will come into this game with more match experience, so I’m backing them for the win.
Bayern Munich to win – 6/5
Manchester City vs Liverpool
The next match in this preview is an all English affair as Manchester City take on Liverpool. These two sides are the favourites for the Premier League title this season and after a summer of heavy spending, Liverpool are expected to improve upon their fourth place finish from last season. Manchester City broke all sorts of records on their way to the Premier League title last time around and after adding Riyad Mahrez for £75m, they will be big favourites to defend their title. Liverpool lost their first International Champions Cup match 3-1 to Borussia Dortmund, but in truth, The Reds dominated the game and should have won. Liverpool have a strong squad out in America for these matches and I’m backing them to get the win here against Manchester City.
Liverpool to win – 20/23
Borussia Dortmund vs Benfica
Borussia Dortmund were extremely fortunate to beat Liverpool 3-1 in their opening International Champions Cup match, but they will come into this game against Benfica as favourites. Arguably the biggest draw at this tournament is American ace, Christian Pulisic, and he impressed in the first game for Dortmund. I’m backing the American to fire the German side to victory again in this one.
Borussia Dortmund to win – 20/23
Roma vs Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham’s squad for this tournament has been heavily depleted by the World Cup, with nine players being involved in the semi-finals and beyond. England players, Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose, Eric Dier and Kieran Trippier have all been given extended holidays as have the likes of Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. Therefore, this Spurs squad look a little short of quality heading into the tournament and I’m backing Roma to pick up the win in this one.
Roma to win – 6/5
Total 4-Fold – 19/1 (Coral)
