Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors: Current situation
As soon as the Rockets lose a game like the series opener vs the Warriors, the voices of all those critics that have been going against them get louder. Head coach Ime Udoka faces a tough challenge ahead of Game 2, this young and inexperienced team cannot afford to go to Chase Center for Games 3 and 4 down 2-0. This makes Wednesday’s game the game of the season for Houston.
We could be witnessing the final run towards a championship by a Stephen Curry led team as the old and experienced Warriors try to make their way to the top. It’s been just one game, but things are trending in the upwards trajectory for Steve Kerr and his men. Interestingly enough, the Warriors leading scorer in head-to-head meetings vs Houston in the regular season Jonathan Kuminga is yet to log a minute in the postseason.
Houston Rockets Stats & Form
Alperen Sengun is pretty much the only Rocket player that showed up for Game 1 as he led his team with 26 points and 9 rebounds on an efficient 11-for-18 from the field. However, the rest of the team was a major disappointment going just 6-for-29 from three. Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green combined to miss 15 threes, surely that’ll have to improve in Game 2 if Houston wants to level the series here.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler are unstoppable as a duo right now. Both logged 40+ minutes in the series opener and carried their team to an all-important Game 1 victory. Curry in particular enjoyed himself and made a series of threes that were difficult to make, even by his standards. Despite getting outrebounded 52-36 the Warriors were still able to win by 10 points on Sunday.
Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors: Head-to-Head
Golden State has pushed its lead to 4-2 in the 6 meetings between these two teams so far in the regular season and Playoffs. The 95-85 final score from Game 1 was the lowest scoring game between the two teams this entire year, so it’s no wonder the projected total has dropped by 10 points ahead of Game 2 on Wednesday.
Houston Rockets – Golden State Warriors Odds
Pressure is on Houston to respond here, if you like them to win you can get 4/6 odds. Backing the Warriors again will get you odds of 11/8.
The point total has been set at just 204.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors (23.04.2025)
All the pressure in the world is on the Houston Rockets here as they look to even this series before it shifts to San Franscisco for the next two games. How exactly do they do that? First of all, the likes of VanVleet and Green need to step up their game and be more efficient than the combined 7-for-34 they went in Game 1. Ime Udoka might want to dig a bit deeper into his bench and find other options to score the basketball, he used only 3 players in Game 1 which put a heavy load on the starters minutes wise. Golden State got absolutely destroyed on the glass in Game 1, we expect that to be the case in every single game of this series as the Rockets are just built differently and they can pretty much control the rebounding aspect with ease. The likes of Steven Adams and Alperen Sengun don’t have counterparts that can contain them down low, perhaps the Rockets will use those two a bit more on offense to get the win here? The sense of urgency will be a lot higher for the home team here, after getting the win in Game 1 the Warriors might relax a bit as they’ve already gotten the split which was the goal going into these first two games in Houston. The Rockets have already won once in Golden State during the regular season, so they know what it takes. Expect a bounce back performance here and a home win to even the series.
