It’s the final PGA Tour event before the world’s elite descend on Carnoustie for the Open Championship in Scotland and everyone in the field will be looking for from in Illinois before heading across the pond. The TPC Deere Run is notoriously tricky and should provide a stern test for players before they head over to the UK and the challenge of links golf.

Everybody in the field will be hoping to secure some form before arriving at the Open Championship which gets underway on Thursday 19th July.
Here’s a look at some of our favourites for the John Deere Classic:
Francesco Molinari – 11/1 (Bet Victor) – The consistent Italian has become one of the main men on the PGA Tour in recent times. He has soared up the rankings (world number 15) and he should be full of confidence following his wins at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in May and Quicken Loans National in June – very much the man in form.
Bryson DeChambeau – 12/1 (Ladbrokes) – Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau returns to the scene of his maiden PGA Tour win looking to keep his good run of form going. His unique playing style divides opinion but he continues to get results – winning once again at the Memorial tournament last month.
Zach Johnson – 13/1 (888 Sport) – The two-time major winner is also a man to look out for in any tournament and arrives in Illinois in good form. He last won the John Deere in 2012 and how he could lke to get another trophy in the cabinet – having not won on the PGA Tour for 3 years.
Joaquin Niemann- 20/1 (Coral) – The Chilean teenager is one of the most exciting prospects in world golf and at the age of just 19, looks to have a huge future ahead of him. His top 5 finish at the Greenbrier classic should fill him with confidence this week too – very much one to watch.
Brandt Snedeker– 21/1 (Betfair) – The enigmatic American has endured a difficult spell on the PGA Tour but surged back into form last week to finish third at the Greenbrier Classic – a performance that saw him qualify for the Open Championship next week and he could be one to watch here if his form continues.
Steve Stricker– 26/1 (Bet Bright) – The American veteran is looking for his first win on the tour for nearly 6 years but looks to have all the hallmarks of a game suited to the course and seems to enjoy the John Deere Classic – having won the title here on 3 previous occasions – most recently in 2011.
Kyle Stanley – 30/1 (William Hill) – The consistent American is looking to add to his two PGA titles here as he looks to build on his world ranking of 38. His second placed finish at the Memorial last month should give him confidence, on a course that should suit his game.
Top Pick – Bryson DeChambeau – 12/1 (Ladbrokes)
Outside Pick – Joaquin Niemann – 20/1 (Coral)
