Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns: Current situation
Is it time to ring the alarm bells at Golden State? After their Christmas Day home loss to the Lakers, the Warriors have now fallen down to 10th place in the Western Conference with a 15-14 record. With the San Antonio Spurs lurking behind them, even making the play-in tournament is questionable right now. To make matters worse Curry is missing games as he manages his knee injury accordingly.
Injury luck has also turned its back on the Phoenix Suns, but unlike the Warriors, Phoenix has 3 superstars on the team so it’s easier to overcome when one of them gets injured. Devin Booker is currently out, but Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal have stepped up to make up for it. Jusuf Nurkic has also returned from injury, his name has been mentioned in trade rumors lately so don’t be surprised if the Suns ship him out in the coming days.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
Golden State’s last two losses happened at home where they’ve usually been reliable, but that’s no longer the case. Before Saturday’s game they’ll be in LA to face the Clippers, so there is a chance they might be entering this game on a 3-game losing streak. Points have been hard to come by, which is surprising considering they just added another point guard into the mix with Dennis Schroder.
Phoenix Suns Stats & Form
At just 5-8 in road games, it’s pretty clear why the Suns are underdogs here. However, on paper they look like the better team right now, despite not having the likes of Grayson Allen and Devin Booker available due to injury. Kevin Durant has upped his game, he’s averaging 27.6 points over his last 7 outings, we just saw him score 37 and 43 in 2 of his last 4 games. Don’t be surprised if KD goes for another 40+ point performance here.
Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns: Head-to-Head
This has been a very favorable match-up for the Phoenix Suns who have won 8 of the last 10 meetings. During this stretch they are outscoring the Warriors by almost 7 points per game. The Suns have also covered the spread in 7 of those games, including the first meeting of the year when they won 113-105 about a month ago.
Golden State Warriors – Phoenix Suns Odds
If you feel like Curry and co. can turn things around, you can back Golden State to win at 5/6 odds. For a Suns road victory, you will be rewarded with odds of 13/8.
The point total has been set at 224.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns (28.12.2024)
Kevin Durant coming back to the Bay Area is always a good story, but there will be no love lost between him and his former team as they battle on Saturday at Chase Center. Both teams are in desperate need of some wins, especially the Warriors who have lost 7 of their last 10. Stephen Curry’s status is up in the air for this game, he will most likely sit out Friday’s road trip to LA as Golden State faces the Clippers. This will be a 2nd night of a back-to-back scenario for them, they are just 1-2 SU in 3 such games played this season. Meanwhile, the Suns won their game on Christmas Day as they beat the Denver Nuggets 110-100 at home. KD and Bradley Beal led the charge with each scoring 27 points, they’ll be the two main options on offense in Saturday’s game as well. Since moving to the Suns, Durant is averaging 23.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in 4 meetings with the Warriors. With Golden State’s defense being in shambles over the last 10 games, ranking just 21st in efficiency, those averages could go up here. Both teams will be shorthanded, but we would give a slight edge to the Suns in this one. Back the road team to cover.
