Golden State Warriors vs Boston Celtics: Current situation
Wednesday’s win at Minnesota was a much needed one for the Warriors who are trying to dig themselves up from the hole they’ve fallen into these last couple of months. Stephen Curry came under a lot of criticism for telling the media that the Warriors shouldn’t jump the gun and make just any trade, most media outlets took it as the Warriors are waiving the white flag this season. But instead, Curry only said they should wait for a superstar to become available and then make a move.
Nobody knows what is going on with the defending champions. Over their last 8 games they have just 4 wins, far too low for one of the most dominant teams in the NBA history. The three-point shot has come back a little, but overall their efficiency shooting the ball has dropped significantly during this stretch. What makes it even more confusing is the fact that they have most of their star players available.
Golden State Warriors Stats & Form
The Warriors led by as many as 24 points in their latest win over Minnesota, in the end they had to settle for just a 1-point victory after a massive comeback by the Timberwolves. Stephen Curry had 31, including 7 threes made to go along with his 8 assists. Meltdowns like that should not be happening though, but the current state of the Warriors just isn’t good right now.
Boston Celtics Stats & Form
The Celtics suffered another surprising loss in their last game against Atlanta. The two teams were locked at 104-104 in regulation, so we went into overtime where the Hawks put on a offensive clinic. Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Jaylen Brown went a combined 23-for-68 from the field. Kristaps Porzingis did not play due to a lower leg injury, perhaps he can spark a run by coming back for the Warriors game on Monday.
Golden State Warriors vs Boston Celtics: Head-to-Head
The past 3 regular season series have seen the two teams split the two meetings, prior to that Boston was on a run of 5 consecutive wins. These two teams have played each other 351 times in the regular season, with Boston leading the series with 210 wins to Golden State’s 141. Games played at Chase Center have been marked by low scoring, the under has cashed 10 times in the last 12 meetings there.
Golden State Warriors – Boston Celtics Odds
Backing the Warriors to win back-to-back meetings against Boston gets you 8/5 odds. If you like the Celtics to revenge their defeat from earlier this season, odds of 4/5 are available.
The point total has been set at 228.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Golden State Warriors vs Boston Celtics (20.01.2025)
Both teams are struggling, especially on the defensive end so this game carries additional weight. Boston just let a 12-point lead slip away in their latest loss to Atlanta, but they are still heavy favorites here with their record of 15 wins in 20 games vs Western Conference opponents. Health is also a factor here as the Warriors have both Steph Curry and Draymond Green as game time decisions, while the Celtics will be without the services of Kristaps Porzingis yet again. This could force Boston to play an up-tempo style here as they field a much smaller line-up. Something to this effect also happened in the first meeting of the season when we saw 230 points scored between the two teams. Rebounding has been a issue that has plagued the Celtics for the majority of the season so far, that’s been especially visible over their 3 most recent games where they’ve given up 59.7 rebounds per game. For comparison that’s even worse than the Washington Wizards who are dead last in the NBA giving up 57 per game this season. Stephen Curry should thrive in a faster paced game, even at this stage of his career he can still light it up offensively. With the over cashing in 4 of the last 5 Warriors home games, we think backing the points is the way to go here.
