Following Thursday nights World Cup playoff matches, there are a whole host of friendlies taking place on Friday and across the weekend including England vs Germany. In this article, I will be building you a 4-fold bet that I think represents a good mix of value for money and risk with all of the odds. International friendlies are always difficult to bet on due to the non competitive nature of them, but even so, I think there is value to be had on Friday night.
England v Germany
One of the biggest rivalries on the world stage reignites on Friday night as England host Germany at Wembley Stadium. England haven’t beaten Germany at home since 1975 and Gareth Southgate will have a tough task on his hands if he is to pick up a win on Friday. England are missing a whole host of players for the match with Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Adam Lallana and Raheem Sterling just four of the usual starters missing. I fancy Germany to win this one and earn the bragging rights over their old nemesis.

Poland v Uruguay
This has the makings of an interesting clash as two of world football’s leading strikers take centre stage on Friday night with Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski facing each other. Poland have a decent team, whilst Uruguay endured a tough start to their World Cup qualifying campaign before finishing strongly to end up in second place behind Brazil. They will be one of the dark horses for next summer’s tournament and I’m backing them to pick up a victory against Poland on Friday.
Uruguay to win – 9/5
Belgium v Mexico
Belgium are another side who will fancy their chances heading into next summer’s tournament. This talented Belgian side finished qualifying unbeaten, winning 9 of their 10 matches and scoring 43 goals in the process. With Eden Hazard hitting form behind a dangerous front line containing Romelu Lukaku and Dries Mertens this could be the competition that sees Belgium finally make the step up. I’m backing them to beat a pretty average Mexican side on Friday night and they should do it comfortably.
Belgium to win – 4/9
France v Wales
Wales narrowly missed out on a place in the playoffs after losing to Republic of Ireland in their final group game and on Friday they take on a strong looking France side who topped their group. France have one of the best attacking units in world football and they will be licking their lips at the prospect of taking on a Welsh side stripped of their talisman Gareth Bale. France should stroll to victory in this game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them put three or four goals past this Welsh team.
