There’s a huge array of sporting action taking place this weekend, including Liverpool vs Manchester United in the Premier League, the ACLS games in the baseball and a whole host of other major events. In this preview I will be providing you with five betting tips for the weekend of action, with all odds being provided by Ladbrokes and accurate at the time of writing.
Liverpool v Manchester United – Draw (9/4)
The first major sporting event of the weekend takes place at Anfield as Liverpool host Manchester United in an absolutely huge Premier League clash. Manchester United currently sit at the top of the EPL, level on points with their neighbours, Manchester City whist Liverpool have struggled recently, winning just one of their last four games in the league. Both games between these two sides ended in draws last season and I think that will be the case again in this one.
Harry Kane FGS v Bournemouth – (13/8)
Harry Kane has been on superb form of late and the Spurs striker followed up his 13 goals in September with a goal in each of England’s most recent qualifiers for next summer’s World Cup. On Saturday he will come up against a Bournemouth side who are currently languishing down in 19th place in the EPL, having won just once all season. I’m sure that Kane will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing off against Eddie Howe’s side and I’m backing him to open the scoring on Saturday.
Houston Astros (-1.5) V New York Yankees – (47/20)
The New York Yankees surprised many people by coming back from two games down to beat the Cleveland Indians 3-2 on Wednesday night and this weekend they will face off against the Houston Astros in the ACLS game. I think the Yankees will again find it tough going early in the series and I’m backing the Astros to win this one with a -1.5 handicap.
Barcelona to beat Atletico Madrid – (11/8)
Barcelona have performed extremely well so far this season, winning all seven of their games in La Liga. This weekend sees them face their first real task against Atletico Madrid, who themselves have struggled a little this campaign, dropping points in three of their seven matches. Lionel Messi continued his miraculous form with a hat trick for Argentina against Ecuador in the week and I fancy him to inspire Barcelona to another victory in this one.
Swansea City to beat Huddersfield – (6/5)
Swansea have struggled so far this season, but Paul Clement would have identified this fixture as a must win. Huddersfield started the season well with two wins in their first three games, but since then the Terriers have really struggled as they appear to be in freefall, heading towards relegation trouble. I’m backing Swansea to win this one on Saturday to help kick start their season.
