Five Bets for the Weekend

There’s a whole host of sporting action taking place this weekend with a packed football schedule, The Ashes, NFL and much, much more! In this article I will be giving you five betting tips for the upcoming weekend with varying odds. Take a look through them and see if any take your fancy!

1) Paul Pogba to score vs Brighton – 7/4 (Ladbrokes)

Manchester United welcome Brighton to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon looking to keep up the pace with local rivals Manchester City at the top of the league. Paul Pogba made a goal scoring return from injury against Newcastle United last weekend and I’m backing the Frenchman to repeat that feat this time around. Pogba is integral to the way this Man Utd team play and without him they looked a weaker side.

2) Australia to win the First Test – 13/2 (Ladbrokes)

It has been an up and down first two days to The Ashes series Down Under, with England arguably just on top at the moment. England started very well, before a lower order collapse saw them finish on 302 all out. England had the Aussies on the run though when they reduced them to 76-4, before Steve Smith hit his 22nd Test fifty to see the hosts finish the day on 165-4. Whatever happens, I think we will get a result over the weekend and I think the Aussies will just edge this one.

3) Mohamed Salah to score vs Chelsea – 8/5 (Ladbrokes)

Mohamed Salah has been in superb scoring form this season, leading the way in the Premier League scoring charts with 9 goals in 12 games. This weekend he comes up against the club he failed to make an impression at during his first stint in England. Salah was cast aside by Chelsea before really ever being given a chance, in a similar way to Kevin de Bruyne, and the two of them have arguably been the best two players in the league this season. Salah will have a point to prove this weekend and I’m backing him to get on the score sheet against his former club.

4) Everton to beat Southampton – 10/11 (William Hill)

Everton have been extremely poor this season, winning just 3 of their first 12 games in the league and embarrassing themselves in Europe. They lost 5-1 to Atlanta on Thursday night in the Europa League, but I’m backing them to pick up an away win at Southampton on Sunday. Southampton, themselves, have struggled this season and are only one point ahead of Everton right now. Both of these sides have struggled to score goals this season, but I think Everton will just edge this one.

The top two sides in La Liga meet on Sunday evening in what promises to be an exciting game. Valencia have surprised everyone this season, going unbeaten through the first 12 games of the season. They are only 4 points behind Barcelona at the moment and will be confident of giving them a good game in this one. Barcelona have been almost perfect this season, winning 11 of their 12 games and I’m backing them to win this one too. Lionel Messi has already scored 12 goals and he will be the man to fire Barcelona to victory, yet again.
