Dallas Mavericks vs Memphis Grizzlies: Current situation
You have to feel for the Dallas Mavericks and the way heir season has gone downhill over the past month or so. After trading away Luka Doncic and the centerpiece of that trade Anthony Davis injuring himself in the first game, now the Mavs lost Kyrie Irving to a knee injury which will keep him out for the rest of the year. At 32-31 SU they still hold the 10th seed which gets them into the play-in tournament, but you have to wonder can they remain in that position with so many players out injured.
With 4 losses in a row the Grizzlies have also dropped off in the standings quite a bit. They were the number 2 seed for a decent chunk of time, but this latest drop in form has seen them go down to the 4th seed. Not all is lost though, but with just 3 wins in 10 games there are things to worry about if you’re a Memphis fan. The good news is they have this Dallas game to get an easy win which could trigger a turnaround.
Dallas Mavericks Stats & Form
For the 2nd game in a row the Mavs got annihilated by the Milwaukee Bucks 137-107. Without Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis the offense is pretty much on life support right now. The absence of a couple more front line players also leaves the paint wide open for teams to expose the Mavs. This is just a very bad situation to be in and there seems to be no end in sight for the Dallas Mavericks.
Memphis Grizzlies Stats & Form
After losing 3 games in a row by a combined 5 points, the Grizzlies fell apart against Oklahoma City on Wednesday losing 120-103. Ja Morant did his best with 24 points and 6 assists, although it wasn’t the most efficient of games from him. The absence of Jaren Jackson Jr. was just too big to overcome, he is currently dealing with a grade 2 ankle sprain which could keep him out for several weeks.
Dallas Mavericks vs Memphis Grizzlies: Head-to-Head
The two teams split the first two meetings this season, however Dallas looks nothing like the team that won the first game back in early December. This will be the 115th regular season meeting all time, Dallas holds a commanding 76-38 lead in wins. The 4th and final game between the two teams will be played at FedEx Forum in mid-April.

Betting tip and prediction: Dallas Mavericks vs Memphis Grizzlies (07.03.2025)
The injury situation for both teams is far from ideal, but Dallas is in a much worse position with two of their best players currently out. A lack of size on the inside could prove to be costly here against a high scoring Grizzlies side that averages 56.1 points per game inside the paint. That’s the 2nd highest number in the entire NBA this season, over their last 3 games they’ve pushed it up to 59.3 per game which is a clear indicator on how they will approach Friday’s game. Ja Morant is also looking for a bounce back performance here, with Kyrie Irving out of the line-up he has one less task on defense to worry about which could open up his game on the offensive end. Dallas has gotten punished from the three-point line quite a lot over their last 3 games, allowing opponents to shoot 41.7%. Memphis ranks 14th in three point attempts per game this season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they surpassed their season average of 37.4 in this game. The Grizzlies have won 6 of the last 9 meetings, plus they are 5-1 SU in their last 6 games against Southwest Division opponents. We are staying away from the Mavericks for the time being, let’s back Memphis to win and cover the spread in this game.
