Betting Tip Tottenham v Swansea

While Tottenham have stumbled at Wembley in the Premier League, they have picked up a vital win at the stadium this week in the Champions League. That will take a little bit of the pressure off, but fans will still be intrigued to see them play at the stadium on Saturday evening.  With a defeat to Chelsea and a draw against Burnley kicking off their home season at Wembley, the fans will be hoping they can claim a comfortable win against Swansea to settle the team down.

Swansea have won just one game so far this season, and they know if Tottenham play to the best of their ability it will be tough for them. However, with the doubt hanging over Tottenham about Wembley they will see a potential opportunity for a shock.

Tottenham Form

Both wins so far this season for Tottenham have come away from home in the league and that is the first thing they will want to change this weekend. They certainly have the ability to finish close to the top of the table this season, but need to work out their home form quickly if they are to do that. The win against Borussia Dortmund during midweek will have given them a boost and they need to follow that through on Saturday evening and beat Swansea.

Should they do that then I am sure we can expect Tottenham to challenge for the top four this season, maybe more if they really get going. They are a young team, who likes to play attacking and very attractive football, and they have made a couple of nice additions over the past two weeks. I am expecting to see them kick on this month, win at home and go from strength to strength.

Swansea Form

After picking up a good 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace two weeks ago, I was hoping we would see Swansea move on from that and build up some points, but they then lost at home to Newcastle 1-0. This season has been up and down so far for Swansea and they need to work out how to be more consistent and put together a string of good performances.

A couple of additions towards the end of the transfer deadline have improved Swansea and they were much needed after a few departures. They may take time to settle but hopefully for them at some point this month they can settle and begin to pick up points on a regular basis.

On form, Swansea really shouldn’t get anywhere near Tottenham in this game, but with the doubts surrounding Tottenham’s league form at Wembley, Swansea will think they have a small chance of an upset.

Team News

With Tottenham playing during midweek, it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw Fernando Llorente play some part in this game against his former club, to give Harry Kane a rest. It may only be the last 20 minutes, but he would love to get a goal on his Tottenham debut, even if it is against his old team. Elsewhere, new defender Davinson Sanchez is a player I am really excited about and I can’t wait to see him play again for Tottenham.

Swansea will no doubt use this game to get Renato Sanches and Wilfried Bony some more game time with them. Both are going to be key going forward and offer Swansea a genuine attacking threat which they lost when Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente left the club. It may take a few weeks for them to get going, but when they do Swansea should have the ability to score goals.

Top Betting Tips

Betting on this game is all about the answer to one question. Do you trust Tottenham to play to the best of their ability at Wembley? The answer for me is yes after seeing them play during midweek in the Champions League. I am happy to back Tottenham here to pick up their first league win of the season at Wembley.

The normal betting market offers little value so I am going to back Tottenham to win by the correct score of 2-0. This is available to back at 6/1 with Ladbrokes, a price I am very happy to take. I don’t think Tottenham will be hugely dominant, but they have enough in the bag to beat Swansea in this one.

I am backing Tottenham to finally pick up a Premier League victory at their temporary home, Wembley Stadium.
