This game is one of the best games this weekend, two top four hopefuls go head to head at Wembley when Liverpool visit Tottenham. This is a big game for both teams, especially for Tottenham, who managed to finally win a league game at Wembley last weekend. Liverpool are going through a run of draws at the moment, and could really do with turning some of those draws into victories if they are to really challenge for the top four. Both of these teams like to attack and if they get going then we could be in for a very attacking and open game. That would make this a great one for the neutrals, but fans of the teams will be hoping to see their side win the game.

Tottenham Form
Home form has prevented Tottenham from being much closer to the top two, they have really struggled to adapt to playing at Wembley. They finally won in the league at Wembley last weekend, beating Bournemouth 1-0 in a win that was far from convincing, but getting the win was the most important thing. Tottenham now need to build on that victory, and start accumulating points at Wembley if they are to kick on and challenge the two Manchester clubs. Had they started well at home they would be a lot closer to them, potentially above them. Should they find their feet at Wembley, and continue their fantastic away form, Tottenham could mount a title challenge this season.
One area Tottenham have impressed has been in front of goal, with Harry Kane leading the line for them once again. He is deadly and if given half a chance by Liverpool in this game then he will surely make them pay for that.
Liverpool Form
At time Liverpool have looked like a team that could win the league, while at others they have struggled to score and been very poor defensively. That inconsistency is what has left Liverpool in 8th place at the moment, when they could be a lot higher. They have drawn half of their games so far, something that is not good enough, and turning those draws into wins must be their priority going forward.
Another area they need to improve on is their defensive play, they have conceded 12 goals from their opening eight games. When you compare that to Tottenham, who have conceded just five, you can see that it is clearly an area of concern for Liverpool. Last weekend Liverpool picked up another draw, although it was a good point at home to Manchester United. They need to build on that, and their great win in Europe during midweek, and if they could get a win at Wembley that would really boost their confidence.
Team News
Tottenham focus the majority of their attacking play around Harry Kane and Liverpool are going to have to find a way to stop him on Sunday. He has a great supporting cast behind him, who all supply him with chances and he could be in for another good day on Sunday. Liverpool have to find a way to defend better, although coming up against one of the best strikers in the world, that may be difficult for them. Better defending will help them turn their recent draws into victories, and that has to be their focus for their upcoming games.
Top Betting Tips
This game has the potential to be a great, open game with plenty of scoring chances at both ends. That will make it a great game for the neutrals to watch, although fans of each team will be hoping their team can build on what they have achieved recently, and get better. Tottenham would be much closer to the top of the table had they won their early games at Wembley, and if they can find form there then they could still challenge for the title. Liverpool need to defend better, and that could help them turn draws into wins, which would then give them a chance of a top four finish that they are aiming for.
I am going to back Tottenham to win this game, hoping that they have found confidence after their victory at Wembley last weekend. They are priced at 11/10 with Ladbrokes, a fair price when you consider they are playing a defensively poor team, and have one of the world’s best strikers in their team. Hopefully Harry Kane is enough to see Tottenham beat Liverpool on Sunday.
