Betting Tip: Stevenage v Forest Green

Stevenage are making a good run this season and will have been relieved to pick up a win in midweek which snapped a slump in form of back to back defeats. So they have a win behind them going into this one against second-from-bottom Forest Green. Forest Green sprung a surprise win in midweek as well with a win over the slumping Coventry, which was a bit out of the (sky) blue, to say the least. Can they follow that up and potentially get themselves out of the bottom two with a win in this one? Stevenage are 10/11 to collect the home win at Ladbrokes leaving Forest Green dangling at 16/5.

Stevenage Form

Stevenage didn’t have a great start to October, losing away at the out-of-form Crewe and then getting hammered 7-1 by Luton. But they managed to recover themselves with a good 3-2 home win over Accrington in midweek which was after having been behind at the break. So that will have boosted their confidence. Boro are on a three-match winning streak at home and are unbeaten in four there. Overall they have produced a find W4 D2 L1 record at the Lamex Stadium this season. They have struggled for clean sheets on home soil though, with just the one all season.

Forest Green Form

Forest Green snapped a ten-match winless streak of form by picking up a 1-0 away win at Coventry in the week. That was out of nowhere as they had lost 4-0 at home against Newport on the weekend. So after collecting just two of a possible thirty points, they have topped that tally with one win in midweek. That was a big win for them too, just their second of the season but they are still stuck in the bottom two. They are lacking a scoring threat and have just the two goals now in their last six games played and that 1-0 victory over Coventry was their first clean sheet of the season.

Head to Head News

Stevenage are unbeaten in their last four home games against Forest Green, but they haven’t met in league competition since the 2009/10 Blue Square Premier. Stevenage won both meetings that season and they are unbeaten home and away in their last six against Forest Green, winning four of those, all with a clean sheet. They have conceded just the one goal actually in their last six against Rovers.

Top Betting Tips

Stevenage should win this one and are worth backing to do it to nil as well. Forest Green’s win out at Coventry may have been a bit of fluke looking at their overall form this season and Boro have consistently been a strong side on home soil and can handle the challenge. Home win.
