Both Rangers and Hibernian will be looking to make it two wins from two matches in the Scottish Premier League as the sides meet at Ibrox Stadium.
Rangers
Having had a disappointing start to the 2017/18 season with a shock defeat in Europa League qualifying, Rangers have got off to a perfect start to their domestic campaign. Graham Dorrans netted twice in a 2-1 victory away at Motherwell in their first league game, and that was followed by a 6-0 demolition job on Championship side Dunfermline Athletic in the League Cup during midweek.
They will be hoping for another victory in their first home league game of the season as they look to send a message to Celtic that they are genuine title contenders.
Hibernian
Newly-promoted Hibernian have had a great start to the season. Three victories and a draw was enough to ease through the group stages of the Scottish League Cup, then they started their Scottish Premier League campaign with a 3-1 home win over Partick Thistle. They continued their fine form during midweek with a 5-0 victory over League One Ayr United.
This trip to Rangers will be their toughest test so far this season but they will be hoping to pick up a positive result to stand them in good stead for the rest of the campaign.

Head to Head
These teams have met 77 times since 1994, with Rangers holding a big advantage. The Glasgow side have won 51 meetings, Hibernian have 16 victories, and there have been ten draws. Although Rangers hold a massive advantage, it’s Hibernian who have the better record in recent meetings. Hibs have won six of the last ten meetings, and three of the last four. These include the last two, with the most recent being a 3-2 victory in the Scottish FA Cup in May 2016. There is usually a winner when these teams play each other, with just one draw in the last twenty meetings.
Betting Odds and Predictions
Rangers have home advantage and finished in a higher position than their opponents last season, so it makes sense they are the betting favourites here. Sky Bet have the home side priced at 3/4, with Hibernian at odds of 18/5. The draw is priced at 11/4, which is a fairly low price for a result which doesn’t usually happen in matches between these two teams. Because the draw is a rare occurrence, punters can give themselves a great chance of a profit by backing Rangers or Hibernian is the ‘Double Chance’ market at odds of 1/4.
Rangers’ two domestic games this season, and five of Hibernian’s six, have had at least three goals. There have also been 28 goals in the last six meetings. Therefore, Over 2.5 Goals looks a tempting bet at odds of 4/5. Both sides have netted in five of the last six meetings, and are in good goal scoring form this season. Both Teams to Score is priced at 8/11, which is a decent price.
However, with the draw being a rare result between these teams, better value can be found in backing ‘Both Score No Draw’ at odds of 6/4. Hibernian have taken the lead in their last four meetings with Rangers, and are 13/8 to score the first goal. If Hibs do find the net first, a great outside bet is Rangers to win from behind at odds of 10/1.
Another longshot which has a good chance of happening is Both Teams to Score in Both Halves. Both teams have score in both halves in the last three meetings, and it’s 16/1 to happen again here.
