Poland vs Senegal, Betting Tip & Prediction
The first round of World Cup matches concludes on Tuesday afternoon as Poland take on Senegal in Moscow. This match looks like a really key one in Group H and neither side will want to lose it. This looks like the most open group on paper and it is very tough to pick two sides out of Colombia, Poland and Senegal to qualify. This Senegal side are playing just their second ever World Cup, and both of these teams look far better going forward than they do defensively.
- When: 4:00PM, Tuesday, June 19th, 2018
- Where: Otkrytiye Arena, Moscow, Russia
Poland
Poland were one of the most entertaining sides to watch in qualifying, topping their group and scoring 28 goals in the process. What made them even more entertaining was their defensive deficiencies though, with them shipping 14 goals in those 10 games. Poland boast the best centre forward in the world in Robert Lewandowski, and the Bayern Munich hit man scored a stunning 16 goals in qualifying. Much of their hopes will be built around Lewandowski and if he can continue his superb form, then Poland have a great chance of success in Russia.
Senegal
Senegal come into this World Cup with the potential to upset a lot of sides and with the likes of Sadio Mane and Keita Balde in attack, they have plenty of attacking threat. This Senegal side were unbeaten in qualifying and come into the World Cup having kept clean sheets in three of their last four matches. You feel that if Senegal are to qualify then they have to get something out of Tuesday’s game against Poland and with that in mind, I’m expecting them to set up on the counter attack for this game.
Poland vs Senegal Prediction
I think there could well be goals on offer in this one. Nine of Poland’s last 12 matches have seen over 2.5 goals in them, whilst seven of their 10 qualifying matches saw both teams score. These sides have plenty of quality in attacking areas and I think we could be in for a score draw in this match.
Poland vs Senegal Betting Tips (Coral)
Poland start this game as slight favourites at 13/10, whilst a victory for Senegal is priced up at 12/5, with the draw available at 2/1. When you look at all the stats listed above, both teams to score in the match looks like a great bet here and that is reflected in the odds of 11/10 on that. I’m backing both teams to score in this one and the game to end as a draw, so the 18/5 available on that looks like a great bet. Robert Lewandowski scored a stunning 16 goals in qualification and the Bayern Munich forward is available at 14/5 to score first or 11/10 to score at anytime and both of these look like solid bets.
