This weekend in the Danish Superliga, top of the table team Horsens travel to play OB to try and continue their good early season form. Horsens were started as a new team in 1994 and are still young in comparison to many of the other teams in the Danish Superliga. In 2013 Horsens were relegated to the Danish First Division and after three attempts won promotion back to the Superliga in 2016.
Therefore, it is a surprise to see them top of the table, even at this early stage.
OB have won the Danish Championship on two occasions but their last title came back in 1989. There best finish in the Danish Superliga recently was second place in 2011 and they have not challenged at the top of the league for some time.
OB Form
OB have started the season with a win and a defeat. Perhaps surprisingly the victory came away from home last weekend, winning 2-0 at FC Helsingor and the defeat came at home the week before, a 1-2 reverse at the hands of Nordsjaelland.
Including games towards the end of last season, OB have lost only 1 of their last 6 Superliga games at EWII Park and they will be disappointed to have lost the home fixture to Nordsjaelland.
OB have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 4 home league games and will be hoping to change that by keeping out Horsens this weekend.
Horsens Form
Much like OB, Horsens had a difficult season last year but have started much better in 2017 with 2 victories to their name.
Last weekend they were particularly impressive in defeating Lyngby 4-1 at home, at team which had been in good for themselves. It’s unlikely Horsens will challenge for the title this season but wins like that will give them confidence they can avoid another relegation scrap.
Horsens have been in good goal scoring form at the start of this season but have kept only 3 clean sheets in their last 17 away games.
Team News
OB should have a fully fit squad to choose from for this game and with no suspension worries, Kent Nielsen can select his strongest XI.
Horsens on the other hand have a few injury concerns ahead of this match. Centre back Mathias Nielsen, right back Peter Nymann, and left midfielder Hallur Hansson are all struggling with injury and unlikely to play any part in the game.
Top Betting Tips
Given the recent goal scoring form of both teams and their failure to keep clean sheets home and away respectively, both teams to score seems like a good bet for this match. Both teams to score is 4/5 at Ladbrokes.
Looking to predict a winner in this game is tough, as Horsens are not great away from home but did win at OB last season and are in good form at the start of this campaign. The away win is available at 18/5 with Ladbrokes.
OB have scored 3 goals this season and all of them have come from striker Anders Jacobsen. The Dane is 23/2 with Unibet to score at any time.
