The Stags continued their rise up the table in midweek as they took a thumping away win at Port Vale to climb to within touching distance of the top six. Can they keep their hugely positive momentum going as they face up to bottom side Chesterfield? The Spireites may be bottom but they have actually shown some great signs of recovery recently with a four-match unbeaten streak of form going.

Mansfield Form
The Stags are now on a six-match unbeaten streak of form in the division now and have won their last three on the bounce. They are still not a prolific scoring side by any means but they really broke out of their shell to put a 4-0 win on the board at Port Vale in midweek, which followed a great home win over Stevenage last weekend. Their home form is superb this season with a W5 D3 L1 record and they have scored in each of their last seven games home and away, but only one of them have they scored more than one goal in. Kane Hemmings has scored in his last two games and is a 7/4 anytime goalscorer option. The Stags are averaging 1.8 goals per game on home soil this season and have only been trailing at half time in one home fixture. Remarkably they have not had a repeat scoreline this season at all, each one of their nine home games having produced a unique scoreline.
Chesterfield Form
The Spireites, after winning only one of their opening thirteen league games have now won their last two, having banked back to back home wins over Exeter and Forest Green. The win over Exeter, a current top four side was a massive result for the Spireites. Away from home they have only collected the one away win all season in a W1 D2 L6 record but they have scored in each of their last four road games so both teams to score may be worth considering for the match. Chesterfield though have conceded an average of over two goals per game out on their travels this season. 71% of their goals this season have come in the second half of matches.
Head to Head News
This will be the first meeting between Mansfield and Chesterfield since the 2013/14 season when they were together in League Two. Mansfield collected four points from the two league games this season but lost a JP Trophy game against the Spireites. There were just the two goals returned in total in those three games and Chesterfield have lost just one of their last six games in all competitions against Mansfield.
Top Betting Tips
Mansfield are quietly going about their business and have the home strengths at the moment to collect a win in this one. There has been a bit of a resurgence from Chesterfield, but they may struggle to get the better of an in-form side out on the road.
