Lincoln have started to get back on track having landed two consecutive wins to hold down a place in the top six, but with things so competitive in the race for the play-off spots, they can’t take their foot off the gas. They get a tough home game here against third-places Accrington who are only the four points ahead of them, so the Imps could really get themselves going with a victory in this one. The Imps have taken back to back wins over Port Vale and Yeovil to get a bit of confidence back under their belt as they had only managed the one win in their previous five. They have enjoyed a decent season on home soil with W4 D4 L2 record and they have suffered only the one loss in their last six at Sincil Bank. They are the lowest scorers in the top six in League Two so they have relied on their defence a lot.
They have not been trailing at halftime in any home game this season and they have conceded under a goal per game on home soil. Only twice this season have they conceded the opening goal in a home game. They have only shipped the one goal at home this season in the first half of a game and as this is a top clash, it is probably going to go under 2.5 goals as the Imps are a good solid side.
Accrington Form
As for Accrington, they are going well too but had a five-match unbeaten streak snapped last weekend when they lost 2-0 at Exeter who are sandwiched in between themselves and Lincoln in the league table. Accrington have won just one of their last four away games (D1 L2) so have been a little bit unsteady on their travels.
Overall they are W5 D2 L3 on their travels which is pretty good and they have scored at a steady rate of 1.5 goals per game away from home this season. There has been three clean sheets in ten away games for them and to their credit, they have opened the scoring in six of their away fixtures so far. So even if they don’t turn up and win, you wouldn’t expect them to lose by any kind of substantial margin really and two of their three away losses have been by just the one-goal margin.
