This is a fixture that all Huddersfield fans will have been looking forward to, seeing one of the big Premier League clubs visit their home ground. Huddersfield started the season well, but since then they have struggled and have slipped down the table. Manchester United also started the season very well, but they have continued their good start and still remain unbeaten in the Premier League.
Manchester United obviously come into this game as favourites, but Huddersfield know they have nothing to lose, and everything to gain from this fixture. This is going to be a great occasion for the players and fans of the club, and they will head to the game in the hope of causing a big upset.

Huddersfield Form
After their first three games, Huddersfield probably thought their Premier League campaign was going to be slightly easier than predicted. However, since then they have struggled to pick up any wins, and it is only their good start that is keeping them away from the relegation zone. It is vital they pick up a win soon for morale, but they also need to continue drawing games, those regular points here and there are what keep teams in the Premier League, alongside the odd win.
This is obviously a huge ask for Huddersfield to win the game, but they will be hoping they can pick up a valuable point, and some morale to take into the rest of the month. Should they get anything from this game, it isn’t just the points that they get, it is what their morale does and how it affects the next few games, that is what Huddersfield will be looking for.
Manchester United Form
Manchester United are unbeaten this season and sit in second place in the Premier League, two points behind Manchester City. A draw last weekend for United gave their city rivals the upper hand, although drawing away to Liverpool was not a bad result for United, and they will be happy to leave that game with a point.
Overall, United have played very well so far and I am sure Jose Mourinho will be much happier than this time last season. The big change has been their attacking play, they look dangerous on every attack and they are finding the back of the net on a regular basis. They have scored 21 goals in their opening eight games to highlight this, and they will need it to continue if they are to keep up with Manchester City in the title race.
Team News
Steve Mounie has been a big loss for Huddersfield over the past few games and they will be hoping that he is ready to come back this weekend. They won’t get many chances against Manchester United and if they do get the odd one, they need someone in attack who can finish it. Based on what we have seen so far from Mounie, he looks to be that player, and the Terriers have certainly missed him.
It was no coincidence that last weekend in a game where Manchester United didn’t score, Romelu Lukaku was very quiet. He has shown that he can lead this Manchester United team to glory, but he has to show that every game and last weekend, in a big game against Liverpool, he was very quiet. This weekend he has a good opportunity to get back to scoring goals for his club and this is something he will want to do.
Top Betting Tips
I am expecting Manchester United to win this game, although looking at the betting there is no value at all in the game market. On the correct score market, Manchester United are 5/1 with Ladbrokes, William Hill and Betfred to win the game 2-0 and that is what I am backing. I think United will be able to keep Huddersfield quiet in this one, while also showing enough in attack to grab a couple of goals and win the game.
This is a huge occasion for Huddersfield and if they were to get something from the game it would be a huge boost to their survival chances this season, and a big boost to morale. However, I don’t think they will do that, and I have Manchester United running out as comfortable 2-0 winners of the game.
I am sure we will see Huddersfield put up a strong fight, but ultimately, the quality that Manchester United have is going to shine through and win them the game.
