The biggest tie of the fourth round in the FA Cup is taking place at The John Smith’s Stadium where Huddersfield Town are hosting Manchester United. The Red Devils come into this game off the back of a shock defeat to Newcastle United at the weekend and Jose Mourinho will be desperate to avoid a repeat of their last performance at John Smith’s Stadium when Huddersfield Town picked up a 2-1 win in the league. The FA Cup will provide a welcome break from the relegation battle which Huddersfield find themselves in and David Wagner will be hopeful his side can spring another upset on Saturday.

Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield Town picked up a massive 4-1 win over Bournemouth in their last game and David Wagner’s side will come into this game full of confidence. Midfield maestro, Aaron Mooy is a doubt for the game after suffering a knee injury against Bournemouth and if the Australian fails to prove his fitness before the game, he will be a massive miss for The Terriers.
Manchester United
Manchester United were poor against Newcastle United last weekend, going down to a shock 1-0 defeat at St. James’s Park. Joselu scored the only goal of the game on that day as a number of Manchester United players turned in substandard performances. Jose Mourinho will likely make a whole host of changes for this game with the likes of Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera all likely to come into the starting line up. Paul Pogba has been withdrawn in his last two starts for the club and he is unlikely to be involved on Saturday.
Talking Points
1. The Terriers haven’t reached the FA Cup quarter-finals since the 1971-72 campaign, losing each of their last five fifth-round ties, including in a replay against Manchester City in last season’s competition.
2. Huddersfield have won their last two games by the same scoreline, 4-1. They last scored 4+ goals in three consecutive matches back in January 1928.
3. Alexis Sanchez has been directly involved in 15 goals in 15 appearances in the FA Cup (eight goals and seven assists).
Huddersfield Town v Manchester United – Betting Odds and Prediction
Huddersfield Town sprung a shock when these two sides met in the league, but I’m backing Manchester United to pick up the victory in this one. I’m sure that Jose Mourinho will have had some stern words with his players after the loss to Newcastle United at the weekend and I believe they will put in a much better performance this time around.
Top Betting Tips Huddersfield Town v Manchester United
Manchester United start this game as massive favourites at odds of 2/5, whilst a home win for Huddersfield Town is priced up at 13/2, with the draw available at 7/2. I fancy United to win this game quite comfortably and so a bet on Manchester United to Win to Nil at 6/5 looks like good value to me. In terms of goal scorers, it is hard to predict who will start the game, but if Marcus Rashford plays, then I do fancy him at 21/20 to score.
