Both sides will kick off this weekend meeting rooted in the bottom half of the table. Crawley’s struggles have been well documented this season but there have been glimmers of hope for them in recent games. They kick off just the one point behind Carlisle who, for a play-off side last season are having a rough old time of things this season with a leaky defence that is seriously hindering their progress. Carlisle though are going as 27/20 favourites with Coral to win this one on the road, with Crawley at 2/1.

Crawley Form:
Rawley, to their credit, have at least shown some fighting spirit lately but taking four points from their last four games. It doesn’t sound a lot but they have been able to pull away from the bottom. The two defeats they have suffered in their three were against current leaders Notts County and the strong Newport side, and Crawley lost only by a one-goal margin in both of those games. So they aren’t getting torn apart at the back and they do boast a better defensive record than Carlise do. At home Crawley are on a poor W1 L5 record though, losing their last two back to back.
Carlisle Form:
The Cumbrians looked to have turned a bit of corner with a win over Crewe last weekend, but it all came tumbling down in midweek when they lost at home against Stevenage. That’s just the one win in their last seven league outings now for them and they will vulnerable wherever they go at the moment. Away from home they have a W2 L3 record for the season and snapped a three-match losing streak on the road with that win at Crewe last weekend. However, totalling it up, they have still failed to score in three of their last five.
Head to Head News:
There was a thrilling 3-3 draw between them at Crawley last season and that followed a 3-1 home win for Carlisle. The Cumbrians are unbeaten in their last seven now against Crawley with a W3 D4 record. They have drawn three of their last four trips to Crawley. Overall there have only been ten previous meetings and Carlisle are 4-2 up with four drawn matches.
Top Betting Tips:
Crawley just can’t seem to get going on home soil and Carlisle back more of a threat going forward. While Carlisle aren’t very good a the back, the home side may lack enough of an edge to get them under too much pressure. Away win.
