Coventry, despite having the best defensive record in League Two by a country mile, have produced a little slump of form which has seen them fall away from the top three in the table. There is a chance for them to recover in this one though as they face a Mansfield side who have failed to win any of their last four league games. Goals may well be at a premium at the Ricoh on the weekend. Coventry are even money only at home to grind out a win with Mansfield at 14/5.

Coventry Form
Just eight goals conceded in sixteen league games. It’s been tremendous defensive stuff from the Sky Blues but it only really works if you can put the ball in the back of the net. The Sky Blues haven’t done much of that lately. They have scored in just one of their last five league games now (W1 D2 L2) and they lost their last home game 1-0 against the struggling Forest Green. Coventry’s overall home form is solid at W5 D1 L2 though and they do have five clean sheets in their last six at home. They are 11/5 to win this to nil.
Mansfield Form
The Stags have been alright this season but have slipped to just three points in their last five games. Those were gained from a sequence of three straight draws that they are currently on and all of them 1-1 scorelines. But in there, there were tough games against Newport and Exeter. A 1-1 correct score jumps off the page at a price of 11/2. The Stags have only won once away from home this season and three of their four draws on the road have been by a 1-1 scoreline. They are winless in four away from home.
Head to Head News
There is no recent head to head between these two to help size up the outcome of this one. The last league meetings were back in the 1960’s and the most recent game that they have contested was an FA Cup tie back in January of 1976 which Mansfield won 2-0 at home. Nothing to see here, move along.
Top Betting Tips
This has a draw written all over it in big bold letters. Mansfield have held out against Exeter and Newport recently and that suggests that they can take a point at the Ricoh against a Coventry side who are misfiring in front of goal.
