Betting Tip: Coventry v Crawley

The Sky Blues are nestled inside the top six in League Two at the moment with only the one loss in their last six. Their immense defence continues to do its stuff and that is why really they are as high up the standings as they are because they are lacking in the forward department. Crawley got a win on the board in midweek and they needed that as it bust apart an unbeaten streak of form that they were on. Coventry are 13/20 odds on to collect the win here, with Crawley big underdogs at 5.

Coventry Form

Coventry have posted a mixed W2 D2 L1 record in their last five give games but if you look back a little further then there has been just the two wins in their last eight league games which isn’t such great reading. At home, they have failed to pick up a win in any of their last three at the Ricoh Arena (D1 L2) and they are on a three-match barren streak there as well in front of goal. Coventry are the lowest scoring side in the top half of the division at the moment and they have failed to score in five of their last eight league games. They have conceded just the three goals at the Ricoh Arena this term.

Crawley Form

Crawley posted a home win over Exeter on Tuesday night this week and they needed that. Not because they had been losing games all over the place, just because they hadn’t been winning any. They had gone D4 L2 in their previous six so that win will have been a relief. They have collected a W3 D3 L3 record on their travels this season in the league, having only lost one of their last six which is pretty good really. It’s stability and they are pretty solid at the back too with three clean sheets in their last four games away from home. Looking at the negative, they have failed to score in five of their last seven home and away win the division.

Head to Head News

Coventry took  1-0 home win over Crawley around a year ago at the start of December in the Football League Trophy which is their most recent meeting. Their last league meeting was in the 2014/15 League One season when Coventry took four points from the two games. Coventry have struck two goals exactly in each of their last four league fixtures against Crawley.

Top Betting Tips

It should be Coventry all the way in this one. The draw does have some appeal because Coventry have floundered on home soil recently, but that can’t last much longer really and a couple of positive away results over the last week will have helped. Look for a low scoring home win.
