Betting Tip: Cheltenham v Accrington

The Robins got themselves an important three points last time out to give themselves a boost just when they looked as if they were starting to get a bit lost in their form. If they can back that up with a home win over Accrington they will be sitting a lot prettier in mid-table.

Cheltenham Form

The Robins collected a big 4-1 surprise victory out at Colchester last weekend to collect a morale-boosting three points which moved them further clear of any relegation issues this season. The Robins have only won one of their last five home games in the division though but overall have been pretty solid at Whaddon Road with a W6 D3 L4 record there this season. So that would suggest that they aren’t going to be a total pushover in this one and they returned just under 1.5 goals on average per home game this season, while they have collected a clean sheet in 38% of their home games. Each of their last four home games have gone under 2.5 goals so that’s a great trend to ride.

Accrington Form

Are Stanley back on the right track again after back to back wins over Grimsby and Chesterfield in which they scored seven unanswered goals? Perhaps so. That followed a terrible four-match losing streak that they were on, so it has been a decent enough response. Overall Accrington are on a W6 D2 L5 record on the road and snapped a three-match losing streak away from home with a victory at Grimsby on December 30th. It will be really interesting to see if they are now on the road to recovery and with back to back clean sheet under their belt and six of their last seven victories having been won to nil, it may just be worth a flutter on the visitors getting out with a clean sheet.

Head to Head News

Cheltenham held out for a 1-1 draw on their visit to Accrington earlier in the season and they are actually now unbeaten in their last five against Stanley, although three of those have been drawn. They have landed back to back wins at Whaddon Road against Accrington through which will give them a bit of hope in this one.

Cheltenham v Accrington – Betting Odds and Predictions

However, after their recent slump, Stanley have landed back to back wins to recover their form and they are 17/10 to win this one with Cheltenham at 7/5 to get the three points at home.

Top Betting Tip Cheltenham v Accrington

The Robins are not a bad side at all at home, however with Stanley coming back into form and taking a resounding win over Grimsby recently (who are level on points with Cheltenham at the moment) then there is some good value in backing the visitors in this one to get the points. However, the draw looks good as well. 5/2 with Skybet.
