Betting Tip: Bury v Woking

League One strugglers Bury need a second bite of the cherry to try and get to the second round of the FA Cup. National League side Woking had to come from behind in the first leg after Bury had netted in the opening minute of the game. But they showed pretty good resolve however it will be a tougher time for them out on the road. Woking will be going into the reply as 9/2 underdogs, with Bury at 11/20. The winner of this will play either Tranmere or Peterborough in the second round.

Bury Form

The Shakers have much bigger concerns really than worrying about an FA Cup run at the moment. They are rock bottom of League One after having produced a poor season which has returned only three league wins. Their defence hasn’t been up to much at all this season and they have not taken a clean sheet in any of their last eight games home and away. At Gigg Lane they have at least won three of their last five (L2) but it has been thoroughly underwhelming from them. After Michael Smith had put them ahead in the first minute, they should have gone on to be comfortable.

Woking Form

Woking won’t totally be fearing a trip to the League One strugglers. They held up pretty well in that first game in what was a pretty even contest really. They really had the better of the chances in the game as well and there is going to be a bit of life left in this contest. Woking though aren’t in any kind of winning form to suggest that they are going to make this easy for themselves, having gone winless in their last seven games in all competitions (D2 L3). They needed extra time in a replay in the last round to get past Concord and it means that at 90 minutes of each of their three FA Cup games this season, they have been 1-1.

Head to Head News

The game back at the start of November between the two of them was the first-ever meeting.

Top Betting Tips

Woking would be worth a flutter if they had any kind of winning form. But they don’t and a couple of recent successes at Gigg Lane from Bury suggests that they could just scrape over the line. They are struggling badly this season but can find a bit of solace in making the FA Cup second round.
