Crewe will be feeling a little better about themselves having snapped a four-match losing streak in midweek when they scraped out a win at the struggling Morecambe. They needed that and collected an unexpected clean sheet too. But they are going to face a tough opponent in this one as Luton have rattled off ten goals in their last two games and appear to be firing on all cylinders again. The Hatters are 3/4 odds on favourite to win this with Crewe at 17/4.

Crewe Form
The Railwaymen were on a poor run of losing form before they broke out a 1-0 victory over Morecambe in midweek. That was a 1-0 win away from home and that clean sheet came after having conceded twelve goals in their four previous games. Crewe have still lost ten of their last thirteen league games (W3) so they have gotten into the losing habit quite a bit this season and that has facilitated a decline towards the drop zone. Their home form reads W4 D2 L4 this season and are W2 L4 in their last six there. Crewe have conceded sixteen goals at home this season and six of those have been in their last two on home soil.
Luton Form
Luton have clawed their way back to the top of the League Two table and after hammering Cambridge 7-0 on the weekend took a 3-0 win over Carlisle in midweek. That’s three times the season they have scored at least seven goals in a league match. Phenomenal stuff from them and they are averaging 2.4 goals per game this season because the bulk of their goals have been returned at home. They have netted just the twelve in their nine road games. Luton have only suffered a defeat away from home and they are unbeaten in their last eight road games. They should be able to hold their own against a side just above the drop zone and over 2.5 goals has to appeal.
Head to Head News
Last season Luton collected four points from the two games between these last season and the Hatters have remained undefeated in their last three against the Railwaymen. There’s not a tremendously long head to head between them, with Luton leading 11-9 with four drawers.
Top Betting Tips
The Hatters have produced some irresistible stuff over the last week to bounce back to the top of the table. Given their strong away form as well this season they are value to go and collect another three points because even though they picked up a clean sheet on Tuesday, by and large, the defence of Crewe has been pretty roughshod lately.
