Atlanta Hawks vs Milwaukee Bucks: Current situation
Ever since they lost Jalen Johnson to a season ending injury, the Atlanta Hawks season has gone downhill. A couple of days ago they ended an 8-game losing streak with a win against Detroit, but Wednesday’s defeat to San Antonio means that they now have just 1 win in their last 10 games. With the trade deadline fast approaching it wouldn’t be shocking if Atlanta made some type of move to salvage what’s left of this season.
The Bucks just ended a 4-game losing streak with a win over the Hornets, but that win was overshadowed by their trade for Kyle Kuzma who comes in from Washington. Going in the other direction is long time Buck Khris Middleton who could just never regain his form following all the injuries he had in the past year or so. At 27-22 the Bucks are pretty much safe in 5th position, but perhaps this trade can push them towards the Indiana Pacers who are 4th in the standings.
Atlanta Hawks Stats & Form
Atlanta wasted yet another masterful performance by Trae Young who had 32 points and 12 assists as they lost to the San Antonio Spurs 126-125 at home on Wednesday. Young got a lot of help this time around with 30 points coming from Onyeka Okongwu and 22 from De’Andre Hunter, but defensively the Hawks have fallen apart lately and teams are getting whatever they want against them.
Milwaukee Bucks Stats & Form
Milwaukee ended a 4-game slide with a much needed win over Charlotte, despite not having the services of Giannis Antetokounmpo in that game. The Greek Freak sat out due to a minor calf issue, so there is a chance he will be playing on Friday. Milwaukee comes into this game having won 7 straight games against Southeast Division opponents.
Atlanta Hawks vs Milwaukee Bucks: Head-to-Head
The two teams have split the first 2 meetings this year, however it’s Milwaukee that has the edge in head-to-head meetings winning 4 of the last 6 games while also covering the spread as many times. Interestingly enough games between the two teams played in Atlanta have been marked by low scoring with 8 of the last 11 finishing under the total.
Atlanta Hawks – Milwaukee Bucks Odds
Backing the underdog Hawks will get you 7/5 odds here, while if you fancy Giannis and co. to get the win you can get odds of 8/13.
The point total has been set at a modest 232.5 points, with odds of 10/11 supporting either the over or the under.

Betting tip and prediction: Atlanta Hawks vs Milwaukee Bucks (07.02.2025)
The All-Star break cannot come soon enough for the Atlanta Hawks who have simply fallen apart after losing Jalen Johnson to a season ending injury. Trae Young is doing his best with nightly games of 30 points and 10+ assists, but without getting proper help from his teammates these are just empty stats at this point. That might not be a bad thing necessarily, at least for us betting on the game. Atlanta’s high octane offense has resulted in a quite a few games going over the point total – this bet has cashed 16 times in 23 home games for the Hawks. Milwaukee also has a habit of trying to outscore opponents to win games, the addition of a 20+ points per game capable scorer in Kyle Kuzma certainly improves their case of doing so. The last 10 of 14 Bucks games have gone over the total, against the high flying Hawks this could also be the case in Friday’s game. Atlanta ranks 1st in pace of play over their last 10 games, averaging 104.4 possessions per game. They’re only 15th in defensive efficiency during this stretch, while the Bucks are even worse at 24th. With neither side paying too much attention to playing defense, we are of the opinion that backing the over is the best way to approach this game.
