Betting Tip: Accrington v Cheltenham

This should be one of the easier games to call from the League Two coupon on Saturday. Accrington are going great guns in the top three of the division and collected a win on the road over the weekend. As for Cheltenham, they won on the weekend as well and that was a much-needed victory for them as well as it was enough to pull them up to fourth from bottom and it snapped a five-match winless streak that they were on. This is a tough game to follow up for them though as Accrington are 19/20 odds-on to win this, leaving the Robins at 11/4.

Accrington Form

Stanley are averaging two points per game this season and have produced a great winning touch. They have gone W5 D1 L2 this season and they have scored at least two goals in all but one of their league outings this season. They are laying down some attacking power and are the joint top scorers in the division. They have the worst defensive record though of the current top seven. At home, Stanely have produced a very strong W3 L1 record and will be looking to make amends for a loss against Grimsby in their last home fixture.

Cheltenham Form

How badly Cheltenham needed a win on the weekend and they got one too as they produced a 3-1 victory at Whaddon Road over Colchester. That was a bit of a turn up for the books. That leaves the Robins with a W2 D1 L5 record for the season in League two and just the two clean sheets. Those goals on the weekend snapped a dry spell of three consecutive matches that they were on in front of goal as well. They may have trouble making a big impression at Accrington though.

Head to Head News

Three of the last four between these at the Crown Ground have ended in a draw, the last two being 1-1 draws. So Cheltenham have a W1 D3 record from their last four trips there, but in general, the Robins are blowing so cold at the moment that’s it’s hard to see them taking a win in this one. Stanley have only won one of the last six home and away against Cheltenham.

Top Betting Tips

Accrington are down in the head to head, but they are just scoring so freely it’s hard to see them being tripped up in this one. Cheltenham’s optimism may come crashing down, but it may be worth backing them to at least get themselves on the board and a home win & both teams to score may have appeal at 11/4.
