Getting back Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey didn’t help the 76ers in their goal of ending a 5-game losing streak. Instead, they got beat by 20 points at home by the Boston Celtics. While there is no shame in losing to the defending champions, people have questioned the effort of the 76ers in that game as they simply could never get going. Embiid finished with only 15 points, sparking conversation that the team is better off shutting him down for the season so he can get healthy for next year. Whether or not Embiid plays here remains to be seen and that’s the 76ers season in a nutshell. You just never know which team you are going to get from head coach Nick Nurse, so caution would be advisable whenever betting on one of their games. Meanwhile, the Nets are playing without any pressure at this point.
