Minnesota Timberwolves vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Current situation
Going into the All-Star break with a 30-24 record and occupying the 7th seed isn’t exactly what Timberwolves fans were hoping at the start of the season. Recent injuries to Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo have put a dent in Minnesota’s efforts of turning things around. Having Ant Man on the injury report is a big blow potentially, he just had a 44-point night against Cleveland.
Things could not be going any better for the Thunder right now. They’ll go into the break most likely with the best record in the entire NBA, that has to feel good considering they were without a couple of key pieces for most of the last 2 months. SGA is putting together an MVP type season, with Chet Holmgren coming back from injury it will be interesting to see if he can maintain his level of play.
Minnesota Timberwolves Stats & Form
44 points, including 8 threes weren’t enough for the Timberwolves and Anthony Edwards, who went off in the loss to Cleveland. After the loss Minnesota now has identical records at home and on the road, covering the spread has been a major problem at Target Center where they are just 8-19 ATS this year. There is hope that Edwards will be available for this game as he recovers from a minor hip injury.
Oklahoma City Thunder Stats & Form
In their latest win against New Orleans, the Thunder obliterated their opponent, leading by as many as 39 points at one point in the game. Despite playing only 31 minutes, SGA managed to once again go over 30 points. The play of Chet Holmgren was also encouraging to see as he returns to form after a long layoff due to injury. The lengthy center ended the game with 12 points and 5 blocks. As a team the Thunder made 27 threes at a 49% clip.
Minnesota Timberwolves vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Head-to-Head
After Minnesota won two regular season series, the two teams split the 4 games last year. This will be the 137th meeting all time in the regular season, the Thunder have the edge with 91 wins while the Timberwolves have won 46 games. Shai Gilgeous Alexander went off for 40 points in the first meeting this season, it will be interesting to see if the Timberwolves have a gameplan for him this time around.

Betting tip and prediction: Minnesota Timberwolves vs Oklahoma City Thunder (13.02.2025)
If this were a road game the Timberwolves would likely be double-digit underdogs against the top team in the Western Conference. These two teams are just not on the same level right now. Minnesota has a ton of injury issues which include their best player who is playing through pain due to a hip injury. Ant Man went off for 8 threes and 44 points in the loss to Cleveland, but without important pieces like Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo the T’Wolves won’t be able to keep up with the hottest offense in the NBA. During their 6-game win streak the Thunder are averaging 129 points per 100 possessions which leads the NBA, the scary part for the rest of the NBA is the fact that they will only get better as Holmgren retains his pre-injury form. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been unstoppable, he will get whatever he wants even in this game as Minnesota is very thin when it comes to guarding opposing backcourt players. Normally a solid team defending the perimeter, Minnesota has slipped a little in their last game allowing the Cavs to shoot 39.5% from downtown. That is bad news going into a game against a team that just knocked down 27 threes in their latest win. Although Minnesota has the upper hand in recent head-to-head meetings, the injury situation makes it very difficult for them to get a result here. We are backing the in-form Thunder.
